Anchutz bolt body 1405-5

I bought a pre-owned bolt body over 10 years ago. It has a label attached with a part number 1405-5.

The bolt body for my Super Match 54 1413 is 1404-5 according to its parts manual. I haven't found a 1405-5 in any other model documents.

They both look identical as far as I can tell.

Does anyone recognize this 1405-5 bolt body part number and what 1400 series rifle does it belong to?

Thanks.
Dennis

Here is a picture of them. Bottom is the one from my Match 54.

The Anschutz part number for the "bolt body" for the 14xx series rifles is 1404-5 in the 14xx series manuals with the exception of those for 1965 and 1971. In these manuals the bolt body is part 1404-5L. It's not clear why these manuals include the letter "L". In the 1966 manual it is 1404-5 as it is for the last (non-16xx series) manual in 1975.

The earliest manuals available are for what Anschutz says is "Approx. 1955" and "Approx. 1963" (the former apparently available only in French). These don't have the familiar parts numbers. They have part numbers beginning with 1 (the barrel) through 89 (in the English 1963 manual, a wood screw for the handrest slide). Other parts have numbers but are not related to the question at hand. The bolt body has the number 6 in both the oldest manuals.

If the unidentified part number the OP has is correct, it doesn't look like it's from a 14xx series rifle, unless at some point Anschutz identified the single extractor bolt as 1405-5, which seems out of numerical order. It remains likely that it was incorrectly labeled.

Thank you, Sandy22 and Penage Guy.

The bolt in question has two extractors just like my own 1413's.

The numbers on the bolt face are 114 and 700 for the bolt in question and 700, respectively.

Pictures attached.

No, I haven't tried to assemble the bolt in question and insert it into the rifle but I will. But like I said in the OP it is identical in features to the one in my 1413 so I expect it to fit OK.

If there isn't any 15xx series part numbers I think I am comfortable to conclude that it is an error in the label.

Thanks.

Aaah, Thanks! Again, I learn something. Yes, the three digits 700 on the bolt face matches the last three digits of my serial number of my 1413.

So while the other bolt 114 may fit my 1413 physically (slide, cocking, firing, etc.), the head space, amongst other critical dimensions may be different enough that it should not be used unless it is correctly fitted by a gunsmith? What other critical dimensions must be checked in order for the spare bolt to be used safely?

The revision numbers may not necessarily be a design revision, but maybe a vendor revision? Just for example the striker spring in a match 54 style bolt has gone from 1807-15 to 15/1 and now 15/2 (because I just ordered one from ANA). Has there been an actual design change like spring weight or numbers of coils? Or perhaps after 40 years different vendors have supplied the springs?

Part numbers / designs changed quite a bit through the years for M1 Garands, but they all work up and down the date range of use, could be similar here and the -4 and -5 revisions could be completely interchangeable.
