Websites are expensive to operate when they reach a certain number of views per day.
So they allow advertisers to link to the site to increase cash flow.
However they sometimes allow obtrusive forms of advertising that detracts from the site
and can actually decrease the number of views. Then the advertisers and site owners
complain when visitors run adblockers in self defense. Hey, if they eliminated the popups
redirects and dashboards, simply ran images, then there would be no problem.

I could live with the ads, but the redirects are horrible. Once redirected to Amazon (opens in the same window) my back button/arrow goes dead and the only way to get out of it is to close the window entirely. I could even live with that if it happened once per browsing session. It doesn’t happen once per browsing session....

Same for me, using my ipad. It DESTROYS any open tab...on this site!

I’m just going to have to give up Rimfire Central. With this pop up it makes the site useless to me. It’s the only site that has this problem. I use a iPad and this is my favorite place on the web. Oh well!

I'm in the same boat. I like to use my IPad, very portable, but the amazon pop up is a nuisance. Never have a issue with any other site so lead to believe that Rimfire Central has to have some knowledge or agreement to let this happen.

I like to use the IPad also. Normally if I close it 2 or 3 times I can at least read some of the site. This morning I have closed it 25 times and still not been able to post a question. finally had to boot the desktop with Firefox in order to post this. I can't use AdBlock on my IPad because I use it to score matches using Practiscore and AdBlock prevents it from syncing with the other scoring tablets. Don't mind seeing ads but this one is making it unusable, surely there is a limit that could be put on it.

Hey there,

We've gotten numerous reports about this on our other forums.
These pop-ups are usually reported by users on iOS devices on Safari.
There are fewer reports when users use Chrome or Firefox.

So the next time users see these ads, we'd need ALL the following info:

1.What device you're using.
2.The OS/browser you're using. Also, provide the skin/view you're on (e.g enhanced mobile view, full skin)
3.Your general location (State/City).
4.The URL of the ad, you can get this by right clicking the ad and click "copy link address". You can also click "inspect" and copy the highlighted text.
5. Screenshot
6. IP Address (whatsmyip.org)

Once we get that we can send it to our tech team and get them to investigate. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Note that this isn't a replication thing, we're reporting each individual ad because each one is unique like a snowflake

Was having this issue up to last week. Did not happen if I used any other browser on my iPad. Was not having the issue on Windows workstations.
Anyway, the issue no longer appears for me. Whatever you're doing is making a difference. My info is in bold in case it comes in handy for you.
