Nice job on the refinishing the rifle, it looks real good. Were you shooting using a rest?
What ammo did you use?

 

I was using a Caldwell Rock Junior rest with a Protector rear bag. CCI Standard. Thanks for the compliment.

 

That is the PERFECT scope/rifle combo in my opinion. Nice job!

Those are original Redfield rings. I bought that rifle off Gunbroker mainly because it had nice fiquire in the wood even though the finish starting to lift in places. I stripped the stock and hand applied many coats of Tru-Oil

That’s a sharp-looking 69A—really clean work on the refinish, and that Baby Redfield just completes the setup. The walnut has some beautiful character to it, and it’s nice to see rifles like this kept alive and accurate.

Good choice with the CCI Standard, too—hard to beat for consistent groups at 50 yards. Scope/rifle balance looks spot on. Curious to know what finish you used on the stock—looks smooth without being overly glossy.

CCi usually does an adequate job but I usually will run a better ammo though to see what it is capable of. The finish is hand rubbed Tru Oil. Thanks

Nice job on the 69a. I have one too. My dad bought it used when I was a kid. I refinished it two winters ago. My grandson is getting it as soon as he gets big enough. Mine shoots mini mags real well.

 

I used to shoot Mini Mags too, But lately have switched to pretty much low velocity. Lucky Grandson!

 

Now that’s a nice stock for a 69a. Your finish brings some nice visual ‘depth’ and tones to the wood. A very nice looking kit!
