30 Year Old Buck Mark - Mod or No?

Been out of shooting for quite a while, but am getting back into it. Have a 1994 Buck Mark Pro Target that I bought new all those years ago. The astigmatism in my eyes has made it where I can't use basic iron sights anymore and would like to install a green dot reflex sight on this gun.

I see that there are adapters out there, but is it wise to mod this old of a pistol? Or should I just purchase a new model Buck Mark that already has a mounting plate or picatinny rail from the factory?

I wouldn’t make any changes that cut or modify the gun. But if you can just bolt it on using existing holes…it’s fine.

Just a warning…even green dots aren’t astigmatism proof, they’re just better than a red dot.

So before you buy, go to a dealer and look through a pile of different options. Circles with dots, circke crosshairs, chevrons, crossed lines…there are options that work better than a plain dot, for my old eyes.
