Well I got interested in 22mags in 1991 to hunt coyotes during the archery season for deer in Tennessee because you are limited to rimfires. My first rifle for yotes was a Marlin 25MN and I also bought a Taurus 941 so I could have a rifle/pistol combo. Although the Marlin is gone the Taurus is still working hard every fall . The Marlin was replaced by a BRNO ZKM611 auto and I have also added a Ruger Single Six convert able and a CZ452 both 22 mags. I just love having a pistol with me. What are you guys doing

The .22 Magnum is one of my favorites . . .

The .22 Magnum is pretty loud in handguns. I have a Taurus 941UL snubbie that is about .38 Special loud. Makes a good signal gun (plenty of flash and noise) and allows you to carry plenty of spare ammunition to use for hunting.

My first .22 Magnum was my 1st handgun, a Ruger convertible 6 1/2" revolver. Great gun those Super Single-Sixes. I have a couple of rifles and even one combination (.22 Mag / .410), a rebadged Baikal - Remington.

I have the same combo!

My mag combo used to be a Ruger NM Super Single Six 5.5" bbl blued and Marlin 783. That Marlin was a tack driver but I was an idiot and sold it.

CD

ETA: forgot two other .22 WMR pistols I had. Another 5.5" Stainless Single Six and a 4" Smith 651.
I purchased the Ruger SS 5 1/2" 22lr/Mag, then my wife gave me a Marlin 783 for Christmas one year. Still have both, + the wife. Overloadded

I don't currently have a .22 Mag combo. I have a .22 Mag either or.

For instance, my .22 Mag rifle is 34" long and weighs about 5.5 lbs. My .22 Mag Ruger Single Six is 15" long and weighs about 3.5 lbs with scope.

I sure would like to have a .22 Mag double action revolver with a 4" barrel someday. :)

I have taken a number of Coyotes with 22 magnum rifles and hand guns.

Henry/Ruger!

They work just fine if your a hunter more than a shooter and you limit the shots to 125 ish yards.

I carried a 16" H&R & Henry lever (Both in 22 maggie)for many years in my truck and quad when I was the "ward" of 650 acres.

They accounted for many animals.

I picked up a Ruger Single nine to use for more handgun hunts but havent been able to connect..

We had quite a thread going here on the 22mag on coyotes...

What I consider my combo is a 6", Dan Wesson 722, 6-shot revolver that I sent in to CZ to convert to 22 WMR. It will be my dedicated 22WMR. I will probably never switch it back to 22lr but would be able to. It is topped with a Weaver 2.5-5 scope. I have a blued DW with 6" barrel that is my dedicated 22lr.

my .22 mag combo

EAA" small bore " 4.75" blue bounty hunter. everyone seems to hate these SAA pistols for some reason. I love mine, a true big heavy colt clone with out a safety etc to detract from the true SAA look and feel. 9 shot, excellent build and finish, walnut grips. very accurate and a ball to shoot. same size / weight as a .45 colt SAA. I am so pleased with mine, at 300. new, I think it is a very under rated pistol. I don't believe a lot of potential buyers are giving it a close enough look. it has a ruger transfer bar so I can carry with all nine holes filled. it is far superior to the rough rider pistols, of course it IS 100. MORE expensive. put the 2 side by side and it shows why very quickly. just my opinion, of course!!!;):bthumb:

When I carry my 94/22 Magnum, I usually take my Single Six along as well.

If I'm carrying my Magnum Research, I usually have the PMR. Now that I have a CMR, I guess the PMR / CMR combo may get some time...

When carrying the Marlin 883 or the 597 Varmint or the RAR Predator, the PMR gets the call most of the time...

Combo's

I just love the rifle/handgun combo's. I always try to make it happen. First combo back in the '70's was a Super BlackHawk/1894 Marlin, others followed. This combo was brought together because I have a 22 Golden Boy that I use to practice cowboy action and needed a hand gun. The Ruger single six is very close in size, weight and feel to my Colt S.A.A. Getting it with the 22 mag cylinder gave me a combo for the two Henry's, 22lr and the 22 mag. The Golden Boy 22lr kind of puts me in mind of my 1866 Winchester for practice.
