22 ammo at Walmart

I accompanied my wife to Walmart yesterday morning as the fetch and load part of the team. I detoured by sporting goods and they had 325 round bulk packs of Federal on the shelf. Quite a few boxes in fact and I came home with my three box limit. Grandkid ammo and at 5.5 cents a round not too bad at all.

WALMART

Congrats on the find! My local WALMART here in Western PA never has any ammo. I have caught them hiding ammo for their "Special Customers" who sell ammo at FLEA markets for twice the price. A couple of years ago, the store manager and I walked back to the ammo counter to check for ammo. The shelves were bare. When the store manager questioned the clerk, 22 LR ammo was magically found under the counter.
So far in 2021, I got one box of Federal 325's...........the clerk actually reached under the counter for my ammo. Maybe he felt sorry for an old guy with gray hair!

I am never under 5000 rounds..I always tell people buy when you see it, or you will get caught in the stupid pricing scenario again and again..Skip the 12 pack, the movie or the night out occasionally, and buy ammo when the buying is good..I only have around 9000 right now, all bought at normal pricing, not ripoff prices..Will be buying more throughout the year now that it has came back to normal pricing..At Walmart anyway..

Sadly, this topic keeps coming back like a bad case of jock itch! The only way to cure it is to throw money at the problem now and pay as much for 22 LR as magnum ammo usually costs or if you are out of rimfire, take up airgun shooting for practice and save your ammo for serious matters till the situation improves. This can't last more than another 3 or 4 years:cool::cool:. Those who only bought a box or two at a time for their centerfire rifles, pistols and shotguns are the ones in the most trouble. 9mm at $40 a box for plinking ammo:mad: It was $200 a case not long ago.

People may be slowing down on purchasing,,,

People may be slowing down on purchasing,,,
At least on the ridiculously priced ammo.

I've had reason to go into Wal Mart three days in a row,,,
I always stroll by the ammo section.

There have been the same 9 packs of Winchester Super-X,,,
Sitting on the shelves for three days now.

I guess no one wants to buy it at $11.95 per 100 rounds.

Today the Hudson NH Walmart had exactly one box of .22LR. Federal Automatch (325 rounds) for $18.75. I have plenty of .22LR but I bought it anyways. Not trying to hoard but I've never fired that particular variety of .22LR. The clerk was very nice and she said that sometimes other employees stash ammo under the counter. She looked around under there but didn't find any.

I disagree about ammo remaining high for a extended period..As soon as demand drops, and it already is..It will go down to near or slightly above "normal" levels again...22 ammo is already available for normal pricing now..I have said this before, centerfire will be a little slower coming back full production, as the primer situation is causing a delay in running full bore on production of that yet. But it is picking up also..

Manufactures are not just going to sit on ammo in a warehouse, they will have to lower the price to move it.. And the panicking hoarders who thought the world is going, will be dumping their excess too..We have already seen many Firearms/ammo come in the local shop that people bought from panic, nothing happened and they are now selling the stuff for less than they paid, by a significant amount..

Most Firearms new and never fired..But they are never getting close to what they paid when they panic purchased the stuff..

Not being political here, but nothing is going to happen in any significant way in any anti legislation..It simply cannot, if you actually know how things operate....I have said it before and it is worth saying again..People who listen to drivel about this and that, and we are going to own nothing anymore and believe that nonsense..Are the ones that make it bad for all us when they start panic buying..

I am very confident about what is going to happen in coming months and next fall are actually going to be some very good things for us Firearms owners..

Take this all for what this is worth to you..But I am very confident I am right.

The Winchester X 100 packs are only 8.97 or maybe 9.97 at my local Walmart..I think 8.97..But I leave it there and buy the CCI SV 50 round boxes for 3.87 instead..Much better deal and better ammo too.

A lot of stuff going on..We are not allowed to get into most of it here, so I will not delve too deep and get in trouble:)..But one thing is I think the midterms are going to be great for a certain side of things, I will not say which side....And there is a huge SCOTUS decision coming by likely next July that may be very, very good..Depending on which side you lean to..

Just search elsewhere and you will find the answers grasshopper:)

I've said it before, perhaps in this thread - we seem to have so many on the same topic now. Walmart gets it in randomly, no specific day, and anything worthwhile is gone in hours. If you're dropping in once a week, the chances of spotting it are slim - except for all these weird sizes that I've never heard of. That stuff lasts a couple of days at least.

Perhaps it's different in remote areas where they perhaps get one truck per week.
