2 lesser seen mods in copper

Figured I would post two mods I did that are less commonly seen. Neither is uniquely origional, I just haven't seen them on a 22/45 before.

1. Extended feed ramp. Penny saved is a penny feed ramp. I did this a few years back and it's still working. Cut a rectangle portion of a penny and then filed it to match the base of the feed ramp. Epoxyed it on and hand filed to fit.

No more worrying about the position of the first round in the mag. It will even load a short from the mag.

2. Copper bead front sight. I got tired of losing the front sight against the background at indoor ranges. Pre drilled the hole with a dremmel and 1/32 bit. Then opened it slowly with a hand drill and 3/32 bit. A small scrap of 14 ga. ground wire fit perfectly. I ground the wire to a rounded end and then set it in place with a tap from a punch. Much easier to see, just like my 10-8 brass bead sight on my glock. I used copper vice brass because I had it available.

No, not a single round adapter. I just extended the feed ramp another mm or so lower to prevent the bullet nose to feed ramp jam that was plaguing this particular gun. Magazine tuning might have worked but it seemed to me the feed ramp should just be lower. The reason it will only feed shorts one at a time is that the mags are not designed for shorts.

The copper front sight was really easy. 15 min tops. Copper being so soft made it easy to punch it into place. If you wanted a bigger bead, you could go with 12 ga wire
