This was a long drawn out build, it started as a .17 HMR semi auto with another upper in .17 HMR single shot bolt action. All made with AR-15 forgings The lower was machined to be mag fed with savage magazines and although it did function there were so many problems with the semi autos in .17 HMR at the time I just let is sit for a while . Then the .17 WSM came out and I decided to finish it with the bolt action only. The mag well holds a dummy mag that holds 5 rounds to be fed single shot. The upper was machined to hold a single shot 3 lug bolt action. It uses a full diameter bolt with front locking lugs. The bolt cams the hammer back when the handle is raised and pushes it back to full cock when the bolt is pulled back. The way the cam works it cannot fire unless the bolt is down and locked.
The rest is just machined aluminum bar stock ,the hand guard is aluminum electrical conduit. I did the anodizing myself . All this was made on a 12x36 atlas lathe and a small mill from the 1930's
