Another one of those typical "price check please" type threads.

all original 151M(B)

the seller stated "Mossberg 151 M(b) .22lr. Semi-auto, tube fed thru the butt. Has ALL 3 different sights, 3 front sight post (1 peep & 2 post) plus Mossberg swing away rear peep (s-130), and original sling/swivels. Two piece Mannlicher-style walnut stock has minor wear for the age of the rifle, made 1947-1958 depending on variant"

Thoughts? Haven't seen it in person yet.

That is kind of where we are at on this one. Apparently the guy knows what he has and doesn't think it's just some old .22

I have a hard time with this because I paid $300 for my 44 US property that appeared **** near unfired. Seems like the standard rifles are not worth as much as those

There should be 4 posts, not 3. There should be a peep, a tapered post with a ball on it, a wide post, and a narrow post.

A better picture of the posts!!!

Any other opinions?

$300 just seems a little high to me, even $250 would make me act faster. Perhaps I can work on the price a little bit.

Are the autoloaders just as inherently accurate as the bolt guns? Even my beat up 42C that had rust in the bore when i got it is still a tack driver.

He also has a 151K in what he describes as amazing condition. Asking $200. I know these arent worth nearly as much mostly because of the sights, but i could be interested....

If that is a picture of the rifle...

If that is a picture of the rifle that is for sale it looks like a 151M(a) based on what appears to me to be a steel butt plate. The M(b) and the M(c) had thick black PLASTIC butt plates. Of course the butt plate or the stock could have been switched out at some point in its past. Now that I see that inconsistency I would want to verify the rollmark on the barrel. JMHO.

I was trying to figure that out as well as the pictures were matching what I was seeing elsewhere.

Depending on condition and originality correct, the 151 full stock would fetch $300.0 where I am. It's at or nearing the top of the scale but it would sell at that. Of course lower condition or missing/wrong parts really impacts price. Regarding the one you posted a photo of, has the forend wood been repaired? It looks like a join line can be seen in the wood not too far back from the muzzle plus the color looks a lot lighter. Might just be the photo but take a good look to be sure it's not been repaired.
Regarding the 151K, I have sold a couple at $200.00 that were in quite nice condition.
It all comes down to how bad you want a particular gun for the price listed. They aren't made anymore so sometimes I don't mind paying the top price or even a bit more if the gun is nice. Plus they seem to be climbing in value.
I kind of look at it as I would probably be wasting the money on something else so I might as well spend it on something I enjoy even if the price might be a little high. Of course if one is way out of the ball park then that's a different matter.
