10-22 The Fun Gun

I frequently take family and friends to my local Club to do some shooting.
I'll take kids and adults.

I usually take a few handguns; 22LR, 38/357, 9mm for most folks.
I also take the 10-22. Mine has a GM barrel, Titan stock, BX trigger.

We'll shoot the handguns until I see them tiring or wandering off mentally.

Then I get out the 10-22.
Everyone loves that gun.
I let them shoot until all the 22LR is gone.

Of course, at 25 yards it'll make one ragged hole from 10 rounds. All of them in the bullseye.
It is satisfying for a novice after struggling with learning how to shoot a handgun.

I ask after we're finished which gun they liked and I get varied responses on the handguns.
But everyone says that little rifle sure was fun.

Ruger 10-22. The fun gun.

One of my granddaughters. She's left handed and struggled with the stock/scope at first but eventually got it right.

Whenever new/young shooters are with me I bring along a good assortment of Woody’s as well as the shoot n sees. Everybody gets their own which to young people seems to be very important. Some keep and collect them, some toss em, but everyone loves them. Be sure to have an assortment though or the first time you didn’t grab a rabbit or crow etc then thats the one someone really really wanted.

I have a Marlin 15Y for my kids and a S&W 15-22 pistol with brace for them to shoot. They seem to be able to handle the weight and balance much better for now. I may get my 12 year old in an Appleseed this year and I have a 10-22 with factory tapered barrel set up for him.
