Ready to dump my heavy (3 lbs) Boyd laminate thumbhole stock to something much lighter to help with transitions.
What are the fast guys running?

Yes, the Kidd chassis or a Wiland chassis if you shoot steel. Crazy Ivan rigs with all of the add on get you close to the $500 range for a light weight rig which is more that the MDT ORYX that is a very solid at $430. The ORYX that I have is very nice in a 10/22 setup, heavy but nice with a bipod. Wiland it a racer on the steel. I have had nothing but problems with a Magpul X22 hunter plastic stock that suffers from to much fore end flex. Its cheap for a reason, there is no structure hold the action screw and keep the front from flexing. Its all plastic. Currently sells for less than $85 for a reason. I had over $150 into it plus the cost of the extra epoxy trying to fix it, but is still didn't fix the problem. The only solution was to send to the land fill. Stay away from all plastic stocks even the Titian has some flex that limits it usefulness. I and am taking the Titian that I have it to the clubs annual swap meet to sell it for $50 or give it away as a door prize.
Good luck with your search. Don't go cheap, the chassis is the foundation of accuracy to keep the custom barrel shooting straight, handle the recoil and allows you to have a good eye box POA. If you do it right you can skip the high end ammo game and save money by shooting the same sub MOA size groups with CCI SV.

I don't compete but really like the look and really lightweight of the Wiland chassis. I put this together for fun shooting and the ladies and grandkids enjoy shooting it because it is easy to aim and light enough to hold without strain. This is the new composite chassis which weighs 16oz. That is 6oz. lighter than their aluminum version.
