Due to a snafu at Mueller, looks like I'll be getting these in around Friday of this week ahead of even Mueller (Rich was kind enough to ship me some today) :) . These are REALLY nice scopes, See specs below. This has a 30mm tube, target turrets and a fine Mil-Dot reticle in the center. They're $145.00 shipped w/a free sunshade if anyone is interested in pre-ordering (Mueller doesn't even have these on their site yet and they're not going to be advertised on their site til next week) contact me at mizzoumule@gci.net. The Target Turrets and power knob in the rear REALLY compliment this scope well.

The magnification ring that goes from 4.5-14 is engraved in white BUT the number 10 is in Green, which indicates the power that is for accurate milling.

I have been "prototype" testing this scope for Rich for a couple of months now - you can blame me for pestering Rich to add the fast-focus eyepiece - and I am here to say that you will LOVE this scope.

Don't forget - you will need a set of 30mm rings. I recommend the 30mm Burris Signature ZEE rings - they, in 30mm, come with "0" and "10" offsets right in the box.

Here's a snapshot of the reticle from Rich's camera and the note he sent me this morning:

"Dennis, here is a picture I just took through the APT scope at a door knob at 35 yards on 14x.. The clarity in the picture is very poor in comparison to the actual.. Its snowing here so that also effected the picture clarity.. This scope is crystal clear and bright.. I thought maybe you could use it.."

As far as I know, the reticle is not etched, altho I'll get back with you on that after I get Rich's response.

Thanks all,
Dennis

APT Center crosshair is fine.....

A couple of months ago I won a $5 bet with my shooting buddy by snapping off a 1/2" diameter fern at 200 yards, using my CZ HM2 and the APT scope. No, I wouldn't care to bet again.....

This is going to be a great addition...very cool :bthumb:
I am just figuring out which scopes in my herd are going to go somewhere else to make room for at least one of these. The features = benefits and a great value...again! Good go Rich/Mueller.

I can't wait to get mine in. Wish it was summer so it would be more comfortable shooting it. But shoot it I WILL..........:)

diff

David, couple diff's here, 30mm tube instead of a 1" tube on the APV and the reticle is a Mil-Dot reticle versus a duplex like the APV has. Also, the APT has target turrets. The APV doesn't have target turrets. Other than that, same Mueller quality and the glass on these are the same quality as the APV's. They don't come in silver like the APV. The APV and this APT tho, both go down to 10 yds on the adjustable objective.

Hope this helps,
Dennis

For target shooting, is the APT worth the difference in price over the APV model?

target shooting

I would say "you bet" if a Mildot reticle helps your shooting bulls @ long distance. I'm not the expert on that tho, I would call Rich at Mueller @ 1 888 775 8885 (toll free) and pose that question to him. I just had a gentleman state he may use one of these on his AR Bushmaster Predator, so evidently, these can be used for multiple purposes. I know the glass and quality is there. I'm probably going to put one of these on my Rock River Arms AR's. I also wouldn't hesitate to put one on a 10/22 for plinking (but the APV suits that purpose a bit better IMHO) or a 22-250 or 204 Ruger varmint rifle. So they are versatile. All just my opinion of course.

I know you can't make everyone happy but I would have liked to see removable turret caps. I know a lot of the tactical stuff is on the fly without them but I still like the ability to cap a turret. I may have to try one of these anyways though. I have been looking for an APV with more elevation adjustment, which this certainly seems to be.

Well here I go again, taking some old guys word for something(Old Swede), heck a good excuse to do business with Dennis again if nothing else, and I just happen to have a set of Burris 30mm Signature rings sitting around.:D

Anyone got one in hand yet? I'm looking to get one for a S&W MP15 ar15 and also maybe for my savage .17

I'm really hoping it'll hold up to the .223 recoil which isn't much.

I already have a APV on a 10/22 and a 8-32 on a savage .22 so I'm pretty confident on the mueller quailty.

I'm also wondering about revolution counters. On my bushnells they are just etched on the turret tube that gets reveiled more when you turn it more.

Also want to know if the mildots are TRUE mildots and not to scale like the Centerpoint scopes that are mildot but not standard scale.

Thanks

For a 223..no sweat! Buy away Buddy...they (APV) have been on much bigger calibers than that with total success and satisfaction. This new scope is as good or better than the APV. For me, this is a perfect AR scope...looks and features are perfect.
