I have now dabbled in ARA matches and now planning on getting wind flags. I will need stands for these flags.

What wind flags do you use? Pros and cons?

Where can I purchase these flags? There are quite a few to pick from.

Thanks in advance.

As you said there are several to choose from. So you'll get a variety of answers. I use Ezell flags and I'm very happy with them. I ordered stands for Amazon and made adapters for them. I like the bright colors and the fact that they work in the rain

Combine with Eidelon's sail tails, and Besche Windicators they work well for me

As you see here, there are a bunch of people using the graham flags. They work well for a bunch of people. The Keeny flags available at Killough are another fine option. Depending on your vision you may prefer to use dual vane flags. The dual vanes are the easiest to see quartering conditions with. There are many other good flags available out there too such as the Ezell's, STL, and others but which ever you end up using, you will likely end up tweaking them and maybe even changing the tails to more personalize them to how you can best interpret them.

If you enjoy DIY stuff, you may enjoy making your own flags. A person can make good flags of many different designs with components found at any Lowes or Home Depot. The most important part of the flag in terms of function is to make sure it is well balanced and level so there is no extra drag induced keeping it from turning on the stand. If this is a route you would like to go, get in touch with me any time and I will be more than happy to help in any way I can. All the flags we have and use are home made except for a small set of Ezell flags. All designs have their pros and cons.

I used $20 worth of fiberglass driveway poles and surveyors tape tied to the top for my first couple of years, upgraded to Grahams but still keep the home made ones and use them when stretching it out to 100 and beyond. They work just as well
