Whatcha Doing with Your Motorcycle?

Between being laid up from a foot surgery and the nasty weather here in NC, I'm really getting antsy to ride my motorcycle. Since that's not possible with a huge boot strapped onto my left foot, I've been doing a few little projects in the garage. Of course, if you live in 12-month riding friendly area, you may be getting some seat time.

So watcha doing with your motorcycle?

My most recent little project was adding and Android Auto display to my Ducati Diavel. It's pretty cool! Front and rear cameras, bluetooth in and out, big touch screen and TPMS. I had to fab up a bracket to raise the original upper display and then the screen fit in there perfectly.

In the 60's here with zero rain for weeks now, so maybe I'll take mine out and go fishing. This photo from summer;
2014 TW200 modified with a quad rear tire, a XT225 motor and a few other items.
But I'm also going to replace the stock CV carb with a flat slide I bought off Amazon. Looking for a little better throttle response as the CV has a lag as the vac builds to lift the diaphram.

😂 Had to give them up when I became a responsible husband and father. My interest level was mostly in the 9,000 rpm mode with the old KZ 900’s and XS1100 models. Years ago when my son turned 18 he bought a GSXR 650, I was wise enough to not get the bug.

It’s great that you guys have the restraint to ride safely, I just never had the control. 🤷‍♂️

My old Kawasaki Mule is more my speed. The ECM limits it to 25 mph. 😂😂😂😂

I've been on 2 wheels since the age of 5. Sold my motorcycle in 1998 when I got married and moved from Oregon to Texas. About a year later, my wife, knowing how much I missed it, insisted that I go get another bike. I love that woman! Been at least 1 bike in the garage ever since.

Up at the BMW shop in Charlotte today, getting our bikes serviced. Ready for the rain to stop so we can get out and ride!

Our adventure begins where the blacktop ends…

Motorcycles of Charlotte? That's where I usually buy my Ducati parts, although I do the majority of the actual work myself.

I have a heated vest and heated grips. If it's too cold for me with both of those turned on, I'll probably stay off the bike. I was a lot more hardcore when I was younger. I even went a full year with a bike as my only form of transportation. I wore a snowmobile suit over my suit and tie to get to work in the winter. Age has either made me less tough or more sensible. Maybe a little of both!

I used to get antsy, was basically addicted I think....over 1/2 century, over 30 bikes, over 250k miles.
Deer took me out early August '23, ran out from the left side into the front of the front wheel; HAMMERED me down into the road. Messed me up pretty good for 4mo.
Ive always got back on the bronc but not this time, its gone.....
Shame too as only a couple months before I got one of my grail bikes, a 2000 Kaw W650; reminiscent of my '63 Triumph TR6 in 1970 but Waayyy better. Sure glad that wasnt the one to go down! What a Sweet retro ride.
Ive had it and my '81 Yam SR500 real-deal old-school cafe racer sitting in storage since thinking the urge might come back, it's not happening. Better put em up for sale come spring.
No regrets, I had a Good, Long run and survived a Lot in all those years (btw, Im soon 72).
Ride safe

Currently have my SV650 on stands in the garage, waiting to have the forks taken off for powder coating and some new fork oil.
