What is your favorite rimfire handgun and why? What rimfire handgun do you shoot the most?

My favorite is the Belgium Browning Medalist, but I shoot the Challenger the most. I just can't justify shooting a Medalist and using it as hard as I do one particular Challenger, even though they are basically the same pistol. One is just dressed up better.
The reason I like the Medalist so much is the accuracy, reliability and craftsmanship are excellent. They are the most elegant, regular production, rimfire pistols ever make in my opinion.

Favorite rimfire pistol

#1 is the S&W K17/K22 except I don't have one anymore.
#2 Ruger Single Six Convertible--Like to play "John Wayne" sometimes.
#3 Browning Buckmark-most accurate pistola I have.

Grandsons are my #2 and #3 as their #1 and #2. I have to limit them to rounds of ammo when they start shooting those or I would be bankrupt.

Beretta Jaguar series. My 71 and long-barrel 75 are ultra reliable and have crisp triggers... my 76 I haven't "dialed in" yet but it fits like a glove, has decent sights, and has an ultra-light trigger.

My MkIIs are fun and tough but fail to go into battery after just a few hundred rounds and getting them back together (1 in particular) really tests my patience :bang::bonk::banghead3:cuss: The Jaguars just keep going and going and going... I think it's b/c all the crud gets blown out the open top slide. And if they do get gunked up, they're easily stripped, cleaned, and put back together. Just wish mags were more plentiful and available.

My favorite is my Smith & Wesson M-63 Kit Gun. No! Wait it's My S&W M-41. But on the other hand, the M-63 gets more range time and is more of a challange to shoot. However the M-41 is more accurate and a joy to shoot.

I don't know. You got me all confused. I think the real answer is all the above.

A High Standard H D Military 4 1/2" owned since 1985 is my favorite. The grip angle, grip size ,and trigger reach all fit me.The trigger pull is crisp and a happy medium between being too light for feild use and too heavy for target use.The sights are just alright,I've seen better. It points naturally and is easy to shoot accuratly.Other than replace the recoil spring twice,(suggested by experts as preventive maintenance to be done every once in awhile),all I've done is shoot and clean it.One of the factory magazines fails to operate the slide lock occassionally and needs a fresh spring.Otherwise it works just like it's supposed to.

Depends on the day....!
Just shot my 617 6" with fastfire on it Wednesday after being in the shop for trigger work, that is high on my list. But the Kimber CDPII with kimber conversion is high up on the list. Or the Advantage Arms Glock 20 conversion kit (btw - accurate is an understatement). Maybe the SIG 220 rimfire conversion.......

Thanks, I really like it, too. But it is a lot of money for a tiny bit of advantage over the old workhorse, my trusty companion of the days when my eyesight was 35/20 and I had used the K-22 for some of my most amazing shots.

Lately, it's been the 87T. I alternate between that and the suppressed 41.

41 has a better trigger but the 87 looks cooler, although it doesn't fit/balance as well as the 41. Last of the Top3 trio would be the Ruger Competition slabside, 6.7/8.

Right now, my favorite .22 handgun is my old S&W 63 kit gun (6-shot, 4" barrel, acquired used in 1981) with custom stocks and Patridge sight. It has always fit me like a glove, and always wants to shoot better than I'm physically capable!

It is actually on my very short list of "the one gun I would keep if I could only keep one" (heaven forbid!).

Of course, I'm sure my "new favorite .22 handgun" is just right around the corner! :D

This little Lipsey's Ruger KMK4BL is my favorite...

Even though the mag realease is not in the same location as my centerfires, it still makes a great practice pistol. It is accurate, reliable, and has a nice weight and feel. :)

If the sad day ever arrived when I was told I could keep just one pistol, it would be a Browning International Medalist, second model. Other than adding optics, it didn't need any aftermarket parts, tuning or even grips.

I'm currently having a love affair with a High Standard 10X Citation. I don't know if it will push the old Browning into second place, but it is growing on me.
