Look at the trigger adjustment stickies on the top of the page, the buffer can be ordered from gunpartscorp.com. Somewhere there is a power point on disassembling and cleaning the action.

Another option is to find or borrow another action to look at while assembling.

He already has the buffer, was in process of putting it back together when he knocked it off bench. I wish I were there when he took it apart.

Thanks to everyone's replies I was able to figure it out he lost a spring. It's been ordered and I think I will be able to get it together for him. Doesn't look to difficult at this point. I was able to go look at it and I am confident I can get it done for him:bthumb:
