Thought id update

seems the Vapor line changed fasteners.
My 1" rings have hex fasteners, purchased about a year ago.

The newly purchased fasteners are torx.
you can see in the photos, the drawling of the ring has the fasteners as hex.
You can also see the inside has a sticker over the instructions, with new instructions that say torx.

I prefer torx fasteners.

I like Warne products, but am not a fan of vertical split rings. For rimfire applications I really like their 7.3 rings.

Me either! They look scope man buns!

 

Used to feel that way about vertical split rings. But I came around over time. Their QD rings have worked really well for me. I put them right up there with Burris Signature Zee's -- different application, though.

 

Remember when nearly all the fasteners were those dang slotted screws?!? The move to hex-head gradually came about, and more recently there's been a move to Torx which is even better, actually far superior.

With properly sized and cut hex head bolts and drivers they're fine, too many are just slightly off which eventually will bite you in the hiney, with torx drivers being more widely distributed they are now superior.
