I purchased the firing pin, extractor kit, I believe that is what you are referring to. It works great in my pistol! I have a rifle without those parts but have never really had an issue! I just thought for the money when I got the pistol, it would be a peace of mind purchase.

The performance bundle includes more than that. According to their website:

Our Performance Bundle for the M&P 15-22 is designed to eliminate common function-related issues and increase accuracy. This bundle includes our Lightweight Carbon Fiber barrel, 20 Hole Compensator, and Competition Bolt.

The THM tension barrel includes a special taper-honed match barrel and chamber. This is the ultimate lightweight barrel.

Our Competition Bolt is precision machined, DLC-coated, and includes our SureStrike Firing Pin and Exact Edge extractor.

The Compensator is CNC-machined from 416 stainless steel. It will minimize recoil and disperse gases evenly for improved accuracy.

I currently have the volquartsen bolt and VQ pistol carbon barrel. I do not have comp, i use a dead air suppressor.
i unfortunately have not shot the firearm yet because i had to send the barrel back to Volquartsen because the 22lr round would not fully seat. Hope to have the barrel back soon.
Is there a specific round it did not like or would it not fully chamber any 22LR? Did you get the barrel back and put rounds on paper?

I am curious, too. I have 'upgraded' every part on my original series 1 S&W 15-22 and the only thing that remains (besides the receivers) is the barrel. If the Volquartsen CF barrel is a decent improvement, then I would happily buy one.

Does anyone have words of wisdom after upgrading to this VQ barrel?

Just tried to install the Volquartsen competition bolt, what a fiasco! All I needed to do was remove the roll pin that holds the firing pin and recoil lug in place so I could use the recoil lug in the new bolt. That is the only part you add to the new bolt. The pin was way hard to remove and I actually broke the punch trying to remove it. Now I have half the roll pin out and the punch tip stuck in the other side. Finally got the punch out, but the roll pin is mashed. Luckily, the competition kit comes with a new pin, unluckily I can't get the recoil lug out. My fix, ordered a new recoil lug, a new roll punch and just in case a new roll pin. If all goes well, the new parts will go together easier, and I have a spare bolt with a mangled roll pin in it.
