Tippmann Mags

This is my first post on this forum, so bear with me. I bought a Tippman M4-22 Pro on April 26 of this year. I need some help with a problem I am having. When I press the mag release, the mags will not drop out by their own weight. I can pull the mags out with my hand of course, but they will not fall out like they do with my AR-15. I bought this rifle to practice with for Appleseed events to save money on ammo, but stopping to pull the mags out does not help in a timed event. I have contacted Tippman. I hope to could get an answer on this forum. John

With mine the full size mags fall free when the mag release is depressed, but I have one of the "Low Pro" 10 round mags that I have to pull out by hand. Could probably take some emery cloth to the inside of your mag well and polish it up to make them fall free. Wouldn't want to get them too loose, that may cause feeding issues?

I was curious, so, I took five 10 round low profile mags, five full size mags, and tried all ten mags in two different Tippmann M4-22 lowers.

All the full size mags dropped free in both lowers.

All the 10 round mags dropped free in one of the lowers.

All the 10 round mags needed just a bit of help to drop from the other lower.

If the smaller mags weighed like 2 oz more, they'd have fallen clear.

Therefore there is a a tiny amount of extra drag in just one lower and if I knew where it was happening I could clean it up with probably little effort.

I have 5 25 round magazines and they all drop out easily unloaded.

Check the mag well to see if there is any flashing or if the catch is not pushing out far enough, it should be able to go flush or slightly more. If not it can be adjusted just like your AR.

Do you see any rub/scratch spots on the mags or in the well?

Dry lube is a good idea.

I will try these ideas this afternoon. Thank you all.
