Anyone know about the Thompson Center Hawken Silver Elite rifle? Are they desirable and what would I expect to pay for one?
I don't see them at all on GunBroker.

The Hawken Couger Silver Elite is a hawken with all stainless steel barrel, SS breech and SS furniture. The sights are blued steel. It was produced in 1994.

The Hawken Cougar is a blued gun and was produced in 1987.

There is also a Hawken Custom with high polished blue.

The silver elite - depending on condition varies in price.
NIB - estimate 600.
Used 98% condition 550
OK - 500
neglected - Not good because even stainless will rust and there is no replacement barrel that even match if it needs replaced.

If you dismantle it there are numbers all over the gun hidden that should match.

There are a few limited runs of the Thompson Center Hawken.

1995 - Hawken Custom - All blued Hi Luster Polish

The specials did not have a patch box on the right side of the stock.

:bthumb:
AFAIK, the T/C Custom Shop, Fox Ridge Outfitters, made "custom shop rifles" of every description, that sported high-polish bluing & upgraded wood, as long as the Custom Shop was in existence. (It closed after the S&W acquisition of T/C)

I once had just such a .32 Seneca (down-sized Hawken) rifle.

Looks like same pics used to describe a Silver Elite currently on an auction site.
FWIW they didn't come with sling swivel studs.
I added them to my Hawken Silver Elite.

Have it, and the box. Took a few deer with it. Added a tang sight (since removed).
Pretty decent shape.

Did a search and saw one on another auction site, sold.........did not have the original rear sight (newer version).

Bought mine new for $315..............everybody wanted an "in line" LOL.

I gave mine to my dad. He is thinking about selling it, asked about price.
Did some checking, just passing along some observations.
No condemnations.

Must admit, I got out of BP, hate the stuff anymore. The gun would just sit in a safe.........but dangit. I might have to buy it off him to let it collect dust.

Just got hit with two ER visits this week for the kid, so my toy fund is a little low.
Might work a couple of Sundays to get the old gal back.

Was most temperamental TC smokepole I ever had. Musket cap and T 7, with bone dry bore and Maxi Hunters got it to behave.

Grrrrrrrrrr, I could throw 500 at the old man and he'd be happy.
Figure w box and minor mods, it's worth that. Minimum.

Really am torn on this rig. I won't use it, but I did before, and smoked that big buck.
But he didn't make B&C.........maybe I'll arrow a P&Y or shoot a Booner come gun and save myself some money.
