Howdy folks and welcome to this week's adventure in TWH!

I have no idea how to kick off this week's TWH so here's a bunny with a pancake on it's head!

Enjoy!

Morning All happy to report Don has made it to Joshua tree park in California.
Spring break, 2011.. we got to watch the tsunami roll in a couple of days before we went out to JT. Had a condo in Dana Point but spent the previous night in Palm Springs. Went up the cable car, snow on the ground..

Seems I manage to kill a lot of threads............how about this one

It werkeded. :D

In other news, the range was good - dropped a 327 revolver in favour of a CZ 455 Vmt that looked at me with big eyes and moaned about not being out of the closet for months...

CZ did what the CZ does - made little holes in tiny clusters at the far end of the range - nothing new or surprising.

The S&W 48, however, proved for good'n'all that shooting pistols with open sights is more accurate when the target is light-coloured so you can really see the sight picture. The 7 yard lights in my preferred lane are not brilliant, so I've been using lighter targets.

Side-by-side comparison:

Thanks for noticing and giving me credit ;-)

Last couple of days I did a little pistol shooting, first day I realized my muscle memory has either amnesia or dementia. Second day I did better, playing with the new toy, a Beretta M9A1. Made the mistake of letting the Lady of the house try it.....think she intends to appropriate it. We're both liking it a lot. Seems less ammo finicky than my MkII or her MkIII.
Am I glad it's warming up............have to get rid of these hibernation pounds.

Welcome Jerry. Drag up a chair and Al will serve first on the hole.

73° on the American scale right now, 20 - 30 mph winds with gusting to who knows how high. Will head out to plant turnips after finishing the afternoon coffee.

Watching Tennessee baseball put the hurt on Oklahoma, 6-0 top of 5th.

Left knee is giving fits this weekend. Twisted it funny 3 weeks ago and has not completely healed before doing something stupid to re-injure it.

OMG, don't get me started on the "knee" thing. I had what i call my "ladder" incident. The bride took out an increase in life insurance after that deal. I walked it off, thats what i tell myself, get cortisone "stick pill" every fortnight. well, price of weekend warrior status. Anyway, feeling your pain. If a new injury, cold first, next day cold then heat on/off 10 minutes. the cold reduces swelling and heat promotes healing. My Dad called me doc, i just look stuff up, even before the web. Hope it gets better. On a gun story, i have an old savage 22lr, pump loader, receiver and barrel say model 29, not a or b, serial # is high, checkered stock. My brides grandad took a like to me and gave it to me before he passed. it is a bit rough but intact, anybody know the history, might it be older than i think. For certain, not for sale. Ty guys for any insite.

House dusted and vacuumed. Did a 20 minute low impact spin to work off the steak from last nights dinner. Took my engineer and his wife for dinner last night. He’s not my engineer but we work together on the same customers at work. He’s brilliant and one of the nicest people I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. He bails my butt out of so many predicaments all the time. So as a gesture of my sincere appreciation we ate like kings and queens. A bit self serving as I had someone to split a porterhouse for two with. Some martinis, wine and ending with ice cream sundaes and a glass of 30 year port. It also gave him some time to take his mind off his parents who live in Poland 40 miles from the Ukrainian border.

77º. Chicken fajitas and frozen margarita in the sun. The one friend I have said she couldn't join me, and she was there with some guy. No skin off my nose, no interest in her anyway. Ate enough to sustain me until trivia on Tuesday, plus have leftovers.
