fn-p90 inspired 10/22 build

Just finished this after 4 months of planning and building, The upper section is aluminum U-channel and the reciever, Barrel and trigger group mount here. The lower section is laminated MDF sealed with shellac, sanded, and sprayed with truck bed liner. trigger pull is 1:1 with 0% slop. Bolt release and mag release have been extended remotely. It weighs in at 8.2 pounds with a 50rd loaded mag. It's a tank for a 10/22 but I could not avoid it with the materials used. total exact length is 26".

Sorry for the crappy pictures i am working on that problem. I will be adding more pics and details soon.

Thats some serious home made talent you got there. I wondered what could be done with a spare stock just for kicks. All it needs now is a better looking (and performing) barrel!
I do have a few ideas for a regular stock but not the one that mine came off of, it is a nice laminate grey/green nearly perfect. I would like to find a beater stock for cheap to play with, Seen some ideas in the ruger 10/22 exotic wepons book.

AGP Folding Stock Carbine

Just wanted to share my recent build:
  • Ruger 10/22 Carbine, stock barrel (threaded by me)
  • AGP Arms folding stock (blemish stock) 50.00
  • Magpul PTS Mbus front and rear sights 14.00 (ebay)
  • Magpul PTS Carbine length handguard 16.00 (ebay)
  • Leapers 12" picatinny rail custom milled for reciever and handguard 12.00 (ebay)
  • Leapers SCP-DS3840W UTG Red/Green dot sight 52.00 (opticsplanet)
  • Ruger Bx-25 25rd. Magazines 8X 20.00 ea. (gunshow)
  • Handcrafted Machined Aluminum Offset Delta Ring
  • Handcrafted Aluminum Offset Handguard Cap

Total = about 150.00 not including Mags that were purchased ahead of the project, Also not including the machining man hours invested and planning including hand drawn and autocad assisted blueprints. In order to have the top of the handguard even with the top of the stock I had to make offset parts to mount the handguard.
