:tTac sol 10/22 takedown combo
I was able to buy one of these yesterday and wanted to review it,

In the box was a houge overmould and a complete front barrel assembly no parts needed to swap. "that's right and the takedown latch looks identical to rugers"
The only thing i didn't see was the acc rail for under the barrel there is tapped holes with set screws in there so it makes me think they are going to sell it as an accessorize but i am going to email them just in case it was missing as the local shop i got it from had played "hot potato" with it.

The sights that come on this barrel are more usable than the factory ruger 10/22 sights but with a rail on it for a scope you can barely see the rear blade, with a utg see through rail the sight disappears 100%, the front sight is tapped and the rear sight is tapped with a smallish dovetail slightly behind the tapped hole so if removed there is a small spot that needs filled.

The houge overmould receiver end is identical in size to the factory stock receiver end the only difference is the flat butt compared to ruger's curved butt, and a sling stud, houge put some funky screws in the butt stock and they don't want to be removed so i cant tell as of yet what it looks like in there, there is also no brass insert for the takedown screw holding the stock to the receiver.
Ill also add the receiver end fits like a glove to the trigger guard and minimal play with bx25's.

The houge front end of the stock is slightly wider but same length and is fitted perfectly very little gap in receiver to for end, comes with a sling stud. There is quite a bit of movement in the front end without the factory barrel band and I think this could be fixed very easy, there is also no brass insert for the takedown screw holding the stock to the for end although there isn't one in the factory for end.

"IMO" It seems to be about a half pound difference from the barrel combo but it redistributes the weight through the stock so in actuality you rifle does not become lighter just more balanced.
for reference
my factory ss cut down to 16.5in weighs 738g (if someone could weigh theirs in factory configuration that would be awesome)
the tac sol barrel but no for end weighs 568g
the factory receiver butt stock weighs 470g
the houge weighs 654g
the factory for end weighs 156g
the houge 194g

this makes the factory stuff weigh in at 48.7oz more with 18in factory
this makes the houge stuff weigh in at 50.5oz

Sights are still a issue with the scope rail but a huge improvement for irons - scope rail I may look into having a tacsol integrated rail tapped into the barrel i test fit a 22/45 rail and it works.
