SW22 Victory red dot and mount

I've got a simliar set up with FF3 but without the see-thru feature. I "can" see the front sight thru the red dot optic BUT the POI is WAY high at 25 yards.

My thought is, that given how easy removal of the red dot is, why fuss with extra parts/cost. Sure, 'if' the red dot fails somehow, then what. I'm gonna expect I have time to actually remount the OEM non-rail rear sight, takes all of maybe 2 minutes.
