99.9% of the Standard Velocity rounds I've shot have been subsonic out of a rifle length (16-20) barrel.
Ammo labeled Subsonic is usually either the same as Standard Velocity or just a tad weaker to ensure none of the faster rounds in the box break the sound barrier in some sort of rare atmospheric condition.
When shooting various flavors of Standard Velocity through a muffler, it's a very, very rare occasion I hear one crack.
All of these cycle the gun just fine.
The only exceptions when it comes to cycling are variants labeled 'quiet'. These are exceptionally weak, and are designed to be quiet without the use of a muffler.
These are best used in bolt guns, and will generally have to be hand cycled in a semi-auto unless it's specifically set up for them... and then it won't be wise to shoot anything else out of the gun, as it will be slamming the bolt back into the buffer really hard, and could cause damage to the buffer and/or receiver.
