I recently traded for a beautiful, very lightly used (now I know why) M41. Finally got out to shoot it this weekend and it won't run a full clip without stovepiping or jambing. I tried 3 different ammos (Fed AutoMatch, Fed Bulk High Velocity HP, and Aguila Standard velocity) non would run and most often would have 3-4 hang ups in each magazine full.
This is and older pistol (1986 according to SN) so I am wondering if the recoil spring is the culprit? I did read through the thread on S&W Target Pistol Maintenance and am not confident in doing the Extractor Tuning Adjustment Procedure, so I'm hoping there may be an easier fix.
If I don't find any answers here I suppose I will have to send it back to S&W.
