you mean you allowed to shoot at other ranges than your home range ? Amazing!
Last month I shot much better at Mid Carolina than I did at my home range. I used Google Maps and Weather Underground to get a good idea of the predicted winds and the satellite view to look at the terrain. WU was dead on and there were no real surprises. With the satellite maps you can imagine the air flowing like water across a bowl and see how terrain and buildings affect it. It's also a good idea to know what to expect with the sun. At PGC you need to bring a towel and a couple of spring clamps at certain times of the year because the range faces SE and when the sun tops the trees it is coming straight down your scope it seems. At MCGC the sun is behind your left shoulder, so no worries there
I agree there is nothing like the home court advantage but there are ways to help yourself a bit.
