Good evening,

I just received my first Kidd parts for my 1022 rifle build and am planning out my charger build next. Can one of you guys answer this question for me. I looked everywhere before posting this as well but cant seem to find anything so I am thinking that it does NOT work. Does the SB tactical 3 position pistol brace made for the AR 15 work with the Kidd short chassis? I fricken think that combo would be SWEET!!! If it doesn't does anyone have a different chassis for the 1022 action that works with this stock?

I appreciate your time.

I don't have the Kidd chassis on my Charger, but I don't see why the brace wouldn't fit. The Kidd is advertised to take AR parts and they show a drawing with a stabilizing brace attached. FWIW the SB brace fit my Crazy Ivan chassis just fine.

I think I'm following what you want to do but there might be a better way that I'll get to in a bit.

The KIDD Tactical chassis takes a buffer tube just like an AR15. Same connection for buffer tube to the chassis, so if it either fits a buffer tube or screws into the threaded buffer tube hole (what's that hole called?) it'll work. Just get the correct size. Double check with KIDD but I think it accepts a mil spec tube.

But since it's a rifle you can use an actual stock that can be lighter than a SB brace*. Just get a buffer tube with the position holes that allow for adjustment. Most AR15 stocks of that sort can go on and come off in a heartbeat so you're not stuck with just one set up. On my heavy rifle SG I have a Luth-AR stock adjusted to fit me. But when I convert it to the field rifle it wears a much lighter rear stock. Of course they have what? 5, 6 positions? And a MFT Minimalist stock will save you $. If you want storage I think it's VLTOR that makes a hollow end capped buffer tube. If you shop around and you're not in a hurry Minimalist stocks can be had for <$40. Today there are even lighter stocks than the minimalist.

I tried an SB brace on a test handgun to see if I liked the idea enough to SBR it. I liked the idea, but thought the SB brace was far too heavy for what it did and threw off the balance.
