Made a major error when I picked up one at my favorite LGS. I immediately formed a bond with it. Out came the debit card and another dog followed me home. Anyway mounted a Bushnell red dot and can't wait to try it. Weather in Ohio today not great for shooting.

Same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. Went into to an LGS drop off my Supermatic to be shipped off for repairs and came home with a Mark IV Lite with red dot. Fun gun to shoot. Easiest take down I have ever seen. One of the salesman heard me mention something about sight mounts on a 22 and grabbed the Mark IV and said the sales guys were oggling it.

Got a chance to shoot 22/45 yesterday. Not a great day windy and cold. At 25 yards and using the red dot. Shot very good under those conditions. Nicer day will move back to 50 and then 75 for final sight in. I am impressed so far.

Well this thing has turned into a real money pit for me. Strapped on a 4 X Simmons scope and shot at 75 yds . Grouped very nice but really had to concentrate as stock trigger on heavy side and not a smooth pull at all. So I ordered a blast pack which should smooth the pull and lower lbs on the pull. I liked shooting with the red dot at 25 yds and even 50 was ok. Anyway I wanted to be able to shoot with open iron , red dot or scope. I found a place where I could order uppers with no bolts. Seems I can change any upper and use my original bolt. So the blast pack and 2 target uppers are on their way. Along with a set of peep sights. Will post results when I get done with her.

this is probably common knowledge, but Volquartsen has take off barrels listed on their Clearance site for very good prices (they are shipped to an FFL as the barrels are serialized)...I originally purchased a 22/45 Lite for Steel Challenge, and found that it was too light weight for my liking (I previously shot a SW M41)... so added a muzzle weight to the lite and later one of the Volquartsen 5.1/2

" bull for my RFPO... removed the HS507 and rail, and have since converted the Lite barrel to a RFPI with a TacSol fiber optic front and widened OEM rear

I love my Mark IV 22/45 Lite with a C-More RDS. I use a 12 MOA dot for Steel Challenge shooting. I have also mounted a Bushnell First Strike sight, just like a Vortex, and it works great. Just too small of a dot for my tastes.

Was thrilled when I got a MKIII 22/45 LITE. Of course the trigger needed work so Volquartsen parts here I come. Great improvement.
Then I decided to try bullseye shooting and LITE just wasn't me so I hunted for a LLV till I found a price I could accept. WOW, what a difference! (The factory upper now needs a new home as its a dust collector today.)
Then it was a need to change grips. Well 1911 grips fit, sorta. Just took some modest Dremel work for the buttons. :) Wish I could find something I might like than the set I now have. Looking for something like the Volquartsen grips which fit a MKIII 22/45 frame.

I'm still resisting getting a MKIV...
