I've owned a Ruger 77/357 for years. What a fun gun to shoot with 357 or 38's. Almost no recoil with 38's. As with all rifles, none are absolutely perfect. I've been able to correct all the issues I had with it, except the magazine release. It really needed an extended magazine release to make it more user friendly.

Back when I bought it, nothing like that existed. I read you could modify an extended mag release for a 77/22. I tried it, twice, no such luck. It's been a few years and I decided to see if anyone made one or if there were better ideas about modifying some other mag release. After some searching, I stumbled upon these guys.

I immediately ordered one and installed it. Works like a dream for me. Me so happy now!

Wish it was a tad longer, but that's just me.

It’s not the magazine release that causes problems for me, it’s the having to insert the front end first that’s a pain.

O wish you could just press the release, and the mag fall out, or insert sliding it upwards.

maybe there is a technique to it, and if so, I dang sure haven’t found it.
