Thanks Eagle! Those are some nice looking rifles there! How long have you been using the UTG mount? Maybe if you've had no issues with yours, this might be the way to go after all? No sense spending more if I don't have to...

 

I've used them for several years and never an issue. I even used a couple on a 9mm AR.

Until Bushnell started offering their TRS-25 model with the mount included, the UTG was the only option. A lot of people use it with no problems.

I think at least one other company has made one. Maybe Daniel Defense, but it is pretty pricey. I think about $75. If you look around, especially with prices down and all of the holiday sales going on, you can buy the hi-rise TRS-25 for about $80. I paid $110 for mine at Walmart.

I got the low-rise TRS-25 as a gift this summer, so I am stuck with needing a riser for it to get over the factory iron sights, otherwise the high-rise version would have been the way to go. I've seen a Yankee Hill riser, but it's not quick-release and is only 1/2"--apparently that is not enough height to co-witness.

 

E-bay or amazon is were I got mine. I sold my hoghmouny that came wih the trs25. Then needed it when switching from a 10/22 to the 15-22.
Knock off mount was $16 including shippinh.

 

Yes, that's about the price that I am looking at for the UTG. Amazon looks like their price is as good as anyone else's.

 

OpticsPlanet.com carries UTG and usually has them on sale or a 10% off code going on.

 

I just got a 3/4" riser made by Truglo from Amazon for $25

 

I can't speak to the UTG quick disconnect, but the standard risers work great for the TRS-25. The medium height, .83" will give you absolute co-witness, and the 1" riser will give you lower 1/3 co-witness.

I bought my TRS-25 with the supplied riser and it seems to work great. I can cover 5 shots with a nickel at 25yrd...using on the red dot.
