Hello. New user here and somewhat new to air rifles.

I would like to buy Weihrauch HW77. I want to immediately upgrade the sights to match type sights: front with various aperture inserts and rear peep sight with windage and elevation adjustment knobs. According to the description, this rifle comes with removable front sight and 11mm dovetail.

Can anybody advise me what sights will fit? How do I ensure that the height of front and rear sights align?

Thank you.

This will give you a place to start. I have a HW97K, a relative of your HW77.

I recently got a HW95 and wasn't happy with the irons so invested in peep sights only to find out as I shot it more, they weren't correct either. Unless you are shooting at a single distance.
I finally decided on a Hawke scope with a Mil dot reticle so I had solid hold over and hold under points. now I can be very accurate at any distance I am willing to use it on Varmint. (write your dope down and keep it with your rifle!)

Thank you OldWolf! That thread gave me plenty of info!

milkroute, what peep sights did you try and didn't like? I shoot at 25 feet, 10 meters, 50 feet and 25 yards. I print my own targets scaled down (or up) from official ones.

Check out the AirForce TS1 rear sight, a lot of sight for the money.

I removed the front sight on mine, actually had to take it to a gunsmith as the screw holding it was so tight I could not get it loose, probably my inexperience and lack of a proper tool. I used I think an Anschutz front globe sight and an Anschutz rear diopter that was designed for the 11mm grooves. I had a HW97 with the thumbhole stock which I did not care for so orderd a Tyrolean stock from Customstock.com. When it came in I swapped the HW 77 stock to the 97 and put the Tyrolean on my HW77. With the diopter sights it is absolutely perfect.

I have the 97K, no provision for sights, if mine was a 77 Id already have one of those on it and start working out what front IF the oem doesnt sit right height.

It is bolted or screwed on. I actually had to take mine down to the local gunsmith to get the screw removed. It had been factory loctited so tight I could not get it out. After removing it has a 8mm dovetail and I think the globe I put on is an Anschutz. My rifle is less than a year old, so current model

Iirc, I read about an HW dovetailed sight block that is a direct, and inexpensive, replacement (on an air-gun forum).
