That’s your “virus protection” software, probably not trusting the site because it uses so much pop-up advertising.
My suggestion is to use some type of ad blocking software.
@Admin might have some other suggestions, although they’re not always around on the weekends.

It's not a legit warning from our virus protection, and it's not one of the normal pop-up ads. This is something new and it's coming from this site- it ONLY happens on this site.
It's always preceeded on my Android by a warning that the site is redirecting me.....

Some of the users may have VP that is blocking it, but it's originating here.

 

I’ve been getting a lot of pop up and redirect garbage coming here as well. I cleared my cookies and history and it hasn’t popped back up.

 

Mine has become a severe hindrance to even reading posts in the past month or so as well. Went from Google/Safari to Duck Duck Go on iPhone 16Pro always updated to this nonsense.
A real pain to deal with.

I have had to resort to using my computer to even look at the forum. My browser freaks out with a pop up instantly when trying to access the site. Supposedly iphones can't get malware/viruses and this doesn't happen on any other forum or website other than rimfirecentral. It has literally been happening for over a month. It went away for about two weeks and now its worse than ever. I've deleted my browsing history, cookies, etc. No change. I've tried incognito mode, nothing. Really sucks.

Locks an iPhone right up. Same here as a non paying member. Only site ive ever had this issue with so time for s long break I guess till it’s sorted out as I couldn’t even go through this thread.

 

Yep been getting the same for about 3 days now. Since no one had brought it up, thought it might just be my phone.

Me too. Same. Apple iPhone with up to date software.

 

No problem here, running W10, with Malwarebytes(paid version) , using Firefox as a browser.

Same pop-up as the screenshots in this thread, started last couple of days. Usually can close the browser window and come back without it locking up

 

Recently started getting no access to the site on a Win 11 machine. The reason given is no HTTPS only HTTP. Tried all the usual cache clearing, multiple browsers, etc etc etc. Still no workee. Of course fine and no issues over an Android phone, Mac desktop or Linux.

 

If we were to get rid of those stupid ads, on the rightside of this site, this might help. I am becoming sick and tired of seeing the same ads daily here.

 

Yup, only here and pretty consistently within 5 minutes of logging on. That same screen posted above. It's getting so bad the sight is pretty much unusable.

 

Those are bad ads that are driven by your browsing history. Plus membership blocks almost all ads. Clearing your cookies, cache, and browsing history will, as well. There are other methods that have been mentioned.

I am having the same issue on both my iPad and iPhone. Only happens on this site and no others, including those using the same software as this site. RFC is becoming unusable for me.

 

Folks, delete ALL of your browsing data from at least the last 4 weeks. I had the same this happen on my iPad a couple of days ago. That cleared it right up for me.

Now as far as why it only happens on this site, I can't answer that.

 

Regular user here. I haven’t seen any of those pop-ups. I use Duck Duck go, as my default browser on iPhone, iPad, and MacBook Pro; of course all with current IOS updates.

 

Cleared history, restarted iPad, still getting the redirect as listed above. I suppose the inability to use this site will keep me from scanning the classifieds looking for ways to spend my money.

 

I haven’t seen it either….. Duck Duck here too. I also can’t stand to search, work on phones.

 

And the beauty of Duck Duck Go, is unless you ”fire proof” a site everytime you close the browser, or tab, or click the “fire” button, all browsing history is eliminated. Not to mention it automatically removes ads before they pop up.

 

I’m a premium member and I have never had a pop up as described in these types of posts. Wonder if this only an issue for registered users.

 

Pay to be a member...no ads. Don't pay.....you get ads. The ads are cached in your browser history. There is an ad (or more) that could very well be causing the problem. By the way, I'm not a premium member and I had the problem too on my iPad. I cleared my entire browsing history and it went away. I'm not having this problem at all on my iMac.

I don't use a "smart phone" for anything ... I do all my internet stuff on a high end laptop with everything Norton Security offers. I get warnings on this site and a couple of others too. If I turn the ad blocker software to max it won't let me log on here at all ... it says "No, stay away" and not just here, other gun sites too.

If I turn it down a level it will let me sign on here but I get notices all the time about someone or something that it just blocked. I am not joining here or anywhere else ... I refuse to put my credit card numbers out in the world unless absolutely necessary. Sorry ... but if the sites go away because they didn't get my money then "oh well"... sorry about that. I just ignore the ads anyway, but there seems to be enough to keep the sites a float.
