If you stick with fixed power you should be able to find some stubbies. Variable power introduces more lenses which adds length.

Burris 3 x12 handgun scope. Most of the other scopes I have on my other silhouette's are rifle scopes. All bench rest shooting. Long arms length.

 

You didn't say how much magnification you were looking for?

 

Would sort of like a variable power scope but would settle for a 4X if variable is not made.

 

I have 2 of the Varminters, that are the sister models to the Silhouette. One has a 2.5-8 Weaver and the other, a 2.5-8 Leupold. Both are basically the same size. Before the Luey, it wore an old Tasco 1.25-4, of nearly the same dimensions.

I have a Burris 3X on my 5.5 Target that I have been very happy with, but as I bought it via a grocery store message board (in Alaska, before the internet existed), I doubt this specific model is made anymore. It is mounted on raised rings as the iron sights are useable while the scope is mounted. I have purchased a couple of higher variable power LER scopes for my XP-100's, but was very unhappy with them and went to rifle scopes.
