Someone asked when one of us were going to post an official pics thread? Well I just got my threaded 16" stock barrel in today so I guess I will start the "GUN PORN"

I figured it would be fun to have you guys post your builds and also updates when new parts get added. Lord knows mine has been tinkered with like crazy.

Here are the specs...
Donor rifle was a compact model 10/22 (no barrel band)
Archangel kit bought for $150 at a Vegas gun show
Lots of sanding to get it square and level and to get certain parts to fit!!! Uggghhh:mad:
Custom mounted 4" picatinny side rails
Painted the kit flat black
Tango down "stubby" fore grip with quick detach lever
extended mag release
auto bolt release (home job)
Butler creek smoke 25 round "steel lips" mag
Custom 1/2"x28 threaded 16.01" stock taper barrel
reverse slip over bird cage style flash hider (makes the barrel look shorter)
Aimpoint Comp M2 4MOA red-dot "clone" with quick detach lever mount
Superior Concepts jumbo bolt handle (not shown at the moment but I have it)

Parts pending - Power Custom adjustable sear and hammer, and trigger, I'd like to Nemorize the barrel too.

This link will explain all the pro's and con's pretty good. Check it out if you are interested in buying one. As for painting. I painted the whole kit. It really benefits from painting it because of the "flashing" for lack of a better word? The plastic is not really flat black right out of the box. The kit definitely is not plug and play but with a little tinkering you get great results in the end.

It was actually painted desert sand once but I got tired of it. I just recently painted it black.

Mine has a VQ target trigger, PC hammer and adjustable sear, PC firing pin and extractor, VQ charging handle, Tuffer Buffer, TacSol matte black barrel, Skeeter adjustable V-Block. Extended mag release that came with the kit and auto bolt release mod myself.
Oh, and I just recently had CPC do up my bolt. Blackened rather than jeweled.
All painted with Krylon Fusion black in satin finish.
Picture sucks, didn't realize it was fish eyed until I was sizing the pic. The rifle isn't rainbow shaped as it appears. I'll get better pics when I feel like it.

Yeah, sorry about coming off as gruffy in my post. They do droop a bit as delivered, but are easily enough fixed.
that pic made the whole rifle bow a bit, but the buttstock tube and forend are straight and level like in HR218's pics.
I just really don't like putting pics up of guns on the 'net where they can be viewed by anyone, but since it's just one of the .22s and there's already a pic, I'll see about doing up a better one or two.

Yeah mine did not center perfect right out of the box. It took some sanding and in my case I used 2 tiny lock washers to get my hand grip perfectly level and centered over the barrel. Absolutely no droop now in my pics.

The sand colored pic has just a sight droop but the black one shows what it looks like dead center and level (with use of washers).

I noticed on my Tapco the butt stock actually does droop a little. (I am talking about the straight stock adapter, not the bent one)

There is no work since it comes with the grips, butt stock and hand guard. The work is just sanding the receiver section of the kit down a few millimeters to get the 10/22 receiver to fit inside of it. Mine was so tight that I couldn't even pound it in. I HAD TO sand it out a little. It could be a deal breaker for some but it wasn't a big deal for a tinkerer like me.

reminder* you can swap out the butt stock but the grip and fore end are permanently built in. Thankfully they picked a design I already liked but if you plan to swap those parts out...your screwed.

Thanks, here is the setup...

Ruger 10/22 compact model
Archangel kit, painted flat black and the usual sanding to fit perfect! No drooping hand guard on this kit!
stock taper barrel cut from 18" down to 16.01" crowned and threaded 1/2" x28
M16A2 birdcage flash hider
custom mounted 4" picatinny side rails
cheapo laser
Tango Down (clone) stubby fore grip with quick detach lever
Magpul MBUS (clones) - back up iron sights
Aimpont Comp M2 red-dot (clone) with A.R.M.S. (clone) quick detach lever
home made auto bolt release modification
Butler Creek 25 round steel lips "smoke" mag
Archangel extended mag release
(not shown) Superior Concepts oversized bolt handle. Had to dremel off some of the top reciever to fit it on the Archangel kit.

coming soon... Power Custom adjustable sear and hammer, bolt buffer and a PC trigger.
