I'll kick it off this month. At our weekly practice this morning the sky was threatening rain, but it held off so we didn't have to walk to the targets in the rain. The temperature was around 50 but the wind was light so it was fairly nice.

SF 93-3X + 92-0X = 185-3X
NMC 91-0X + 96-5X + 97-5X = 284-10X
TF 97-5X + 97-2X = 194-7X
RF 93-1X + 99-5X = 192-5X
Aggregate 855-25X

A little better than last week so no complaints from me. Last week I spent an hour one morning shooting rapid fire. My slow fire is either there or it isn't and no amount of live shooting practice seems to help much. I need to work on slowing down and making good use of the available time in the sustained fire matches. It's most certainly a work in progress. As they say, it's 90% mental and most of the rest is in your head.

Ruger Mk II 22/45, UltraDot, CCI SV in SF, CCI Blazer in TF and RF

Best I got tonight was a 259 nmc .......But Ive had a bad slump as of late but I'm climbing my way out.....was haveing bad issues with my timed and rapid but now there back up into the low 90's again.......the nmc that I shot I used open sight for the slow fire and scored a 76 which is low for me ...trying to climb my way back into the 270's nmc......I'm with twidget I need to slow down also and use the time in the TF&RF more wisely......I'd have a great target goin then slap the trigger .......or get in a hurrry.....I did shot a good 25yd rapid 95...all and all a 259 sucks but from what I see inthe targets its just a matter of time I'll be at 275-280 SLOW DOWN and trigger control.......

Ruger MKIII-5.5 Bull Barrel -Herrit National Match Grips- Pro Point Dot.

Hola homies! It's been a while since I last posted in here, but really it's also been a while since I last shot bullseye. The Fall league started back up this past Monday so I should be around for a while posting scores again.

shot I really good rapid today 100!!!!!........I'm getting the feel back.......Think I'm gonna start shooting all my indoor at 25yds...........for some reason Ive always be able to pull better scores at that distance......

50' has to be the least forgiving targets that there have ever been. Have been pretty lack luster for the past few months... generally in the 260's. Earlier this week I decided to shoot the match with an 8 3/8" S&W Model 17. What fun that was !!! Trying to keep the sights aligned during double action rapid fire is really a challenge.

Started out good...

...but reverted to average.

SF 94-2X + 86-1X = 180-3X
NMC 88 -1X + 98-4X + 92-3X = 278-8X
TF 93-1X + 97-1X = 190-2X
RF 96-2X + 96-3X = 192-5X
Aggregate 840-18X

Had an alibi in the NMC RF - the bolt didn't go all the way forward - only the third one in 18 months. I think the extra rapid fire practice I have been doing is helping. For the inquiring minds out there, the 98 was two nines and the rest tens and Xs, and the 97 was an eight and a nine.

Well, had my first 50' indoor practice session tonight. I took the last 3 weeks off from shooting bullseye and needed to get some trigger time.

Slow fire = 95
Timed fire = 100-5x
Rapid fire = 97-5x

Total = 292-10x

I guess I should take 3 weeks off more often! I sure don't like shooting at those tiny indoor targets. Time to move to all year outdoor bullseye climate.

Finally had a good range session ...after weeks of being in the crap can I finally shot some respectable scores

25yds Ruger MKIII 5.5 Red Dot
SF-85,TF-92 3x,RF-92 1x = 269-4x then after a couple clicks to the red dot
SF-91 1x,TF-98 6x,RF-93 =282-7x Fed AE 5022

50ft Ruger MKIII 678 Tapered
Slow Fire 81 CCI SV

The range I shoot at has 25yds indoors so I think I'm gonna take advantage of that and do more 25yd shooting......Need to get the open sight gun dailed in and shoot a NMC with it @ 25 as well....the more I shoot the open sights the more I like'um.......Cant ever seem to find any SV anymore so Ive been shooting alot of Federal Automatch and the American Eagle stuff and to my surprise the american Eagle shoots pretty **** well .......The Gander Mt store keeps Federal Champion 510's in stock ..those are what I will try next should be as good or better the AE

At 25 yards...

...I've found that CCI Blazer works as well as SV, and half the cost, too. The past couple of practice sessions have been with Winchester Wildcat and Peters and both of those seem to work OK also.

My last match of the month

This morning it was about 40 degrees and by the time we were done the wind was quite brisk.

SF 90-0X + 89-1X = 179-1X
NMC 88-1X + 99-6X + 94-2X = 281-9X
TF 97-2X + 94-1X = 191-3X
RF 99-3X + 95-2X = 194-5X
Aggregate 845-18X

As I was getting back on target after the next-to-last shot of the second string of TF I was hit in the glasses by an empty from the shooter to my left. The shell grazed my eyelid and fell out. The shot went off early and was a six. No damage to my eye. Maybe I should start wearing a side shield or put up a screen, or move to the left end of the line

Nice shooting 1shotbob! Looks like you will take the top spot this month.

When I shoot indoors, side-shields are a MUST HAVE for me. I have had a hot 45 case get stuck between my glasses and my eyelid before. It sucks being burned on your eyelid!
