It's hard to find for sure due it's popularity, if and when it's available needless to say stock up while you can. I bought the bulk of what I have, several cases, direct from Norma over the past 2 years but it and MATCH-22 have been on "notify me" for quite a while now. Just keep checking around.

 

Use the search on tac 22. There’s discussion on it being discontinued. No idea if that’s the case but it’s been a while since it’s been readily available.

Thanks for the update. I don't know anything thing about them but my brother in NC was asking me if I knew where any was so I texted him the link to AmmoMart.

 

I’ve got 3 bricks unopened of the red box. I don’t really care for it, but I was getting it cheap last year. I prefer cci sv much better for cheap ammo.

 

Probably discontinued cuz palmetto had it for 6 cpr. Then have not restocked. They do that with all discontinued stuff. For ex hk mp5 .22 was $319 there after discontinued.

 

I doubt it is being discontinued unless Norma just decided that. I had talked to Norma several months ago if they had plans for a replacement for the now discontinued TAC-22 Subsonic HP which is my go to hunting round, they replied no. I also asked about regular TAC-22 and was told it and MATCH-22 were not being discontinued at that time. It's my understanding that Norma uses head stamped RWS brass imported from Germany and I'm wondering if it's a supply chain issue since many European ammo mfgr's. are supplying for the war in Ukraine and other hot spots around the globe, dunno.

 

Someone here mentioned that they talked to Norma and that new supply would be in by end of summer.

 

I saw a video and it looks like they are coming out with a new higher price point ammo. I've done searches for it and it is not listed anywhere but the video described it as a Match grade ammo and Match grade prices.

 

Could be and for me that will require match grade reviews from every day shooters

 

Norma TAC-22 Subsonic shot as well or better than MATCH-22 from my CZ Synthetic American and both Varmint MTR's. I suspect they discontinued it so it wouldn't dip into the sales of the higher priced MATCH-22 sales, again dunno.

 

Sure hope they don't discontinue. It's great practice ammo.

 

For the price we were previously buying it, yes it is. At $300-320 a case shipped a person didn't mind the flyers.

 

Yes but at around 90$ a brick I think I can buy better For like 20$ a brick higher.

 

Sportsman’s Wearhouse has it. And probably will never sell it all because it’s $10/50box.

I recently just discovered Tac-22, as a local shop has a supply of it for a decent price. Seems to shoot very well, better than CCI SV, in several of my rifles. I've been looking for other sources of it, and have come up empty handed. Guess this explains why. I REALLY hope they didn't discontinue it and we see more of it this year! I'll buy that stuff by the brick!

 

My experience lately with TAC-22 has been disappointing. Quite a bit behind actual match ammo, not really distinguishable from Mini-Mags or other accurate HV options for me. Let's just say I won't be buying more, perhaps should consider dumping what I have on GB.

 

Red box I’m assuming?

 

A group of us bought a few cases not to long ago. The best we can say about it is Remington makes better ammo.

 

Damnnnnnn…If I had a case worse than Remington I think I’d leave the rifle at home and throw rocks.

I bought 2,500 rounds early in the year and it has shot really well for the price. Paid like 6 cents a round for Tac-22 red box.

 

I grabbed a bunch of the discount red box stuff during the late winter. Shoots well at a great price, but it's a sticky mess.
No idea what they lubed that stuff with. I need a surgical scrub sink after I load a bunch of mags with that stuff.

 

Just rub it thru your hair, it's better than Butch wax or Brylcream....

Yep have not seen any difference between red or black box ether.
I am gone to do some lot testing soon on my winter stash of 30 bucks a brick.....soon.
But the black box does say ....High Performance Target and the red box don't ☝

Move out to 50 yards and then the whole story comes out. I have three lots fo the red. One is great, one is so/so, and third has lots of fliers.

 

I have a bunch of both blackboard is much better.

 

Here is the 50 yard test, was 15 degrees warmer then the 25 yard test.
There was a 3-9 mph wind from 10 o clock to 2 o clock.
Did have a wind flag.
Would like to try the same test in late Sept.or Oct. when it will be cooler out.

 

Not good enough for pistol competition. A recent lot had three alibis in a fifty round box in practicing for Bullseye competition.

Maybe ok for practice if it hits the same point of impact of aim as competition ammunition.

 

I have some that shoots good in my bullseye pistols and my 22 rifles. Both black and red box.

 

In a recent 50 round box of TAC-22 I had had three alibis. Ok for practice but not for competition.

 

I can not imagine anyone thinking ammo that sold at $320 a case was anything but plinking ammo. Were you led to believe otherwise?
