EABCO just announced 24” stainless match barrels for 457. They are claiming 1/2” to 3/4” 5 shot groups at 100 yards. Just received notification today.

I like the 24" option. That has been a hole in other aftermarket offerings for the 457.
I'm sure the group pictured was cherry picked but then again, I'd have to put significant rounds through my Lilja barrels to get a group like that too. It's a barrel, not a magic wand.
As for calling out ammo, I get it. The chambers must have been cut to maximize accuracy to the Lapua /SK standards. Regardless, I can already see the reviews complaining that they can't get 1" with CCI standard ....
I don't think this will affect Lilja sales. They are top dog and will stay that way with those who want the best and are willing to spend north of $500 to know they have it.
Honestly, if I were in the market for a new barrel, I think I'd give this one a shot.

I’d rather plunk the dough for this one tHan the dough for a CZ 24” when you can get’em.

1/2" to 3/4" 5-shot groups at 100 yards?
1. I'd like to see a verified target with five 5-shot sub-3/4" groups at 100 yards
(with whatever ammo)
2. Until then, I'm extremely skeptical.
Note: The barrel is not specifically called a "match" barrel, but an "accuracy" barrel, with a purported SAAMI "Match" chamber. Oh yeah - EABCO image shows a 4-shot group! Where is bullet hole #5???
I'll be waiting for honest RFC reviews.

Interesting find. I've been intrigued by the 457 and barrel change ability but buying the rifle and then a $500+ barrel puts the overall cost into kind of a different league. This would be a little easier to justify for me and I like the longer, heavy taper compared to bull barrels.

The accuracy claims seem a bit steep considering it's rimfire but also seems promising. I hope to hear some real world reviews on these when they start getting some use.

I’ll make a goup deal here…… y’all put together a group purchase and send me the barrel. I’ll mount it on my 457 mtr and shoot a brick of lapua Midas+ through the barrel at an indoor tunnel at 100yds.
I’ll post pics of all the targets here.
😁😁😁😁😁

If I had a 455 or 457 I'd probably want to hear some reviews too but at the same time wouldn't be terribly worried by the price. Lots of good shooting 10/22s out there with Green Mountain, Fedderson, etc barrels for under $200. It seems like a barrel should be able to be made for a CZ for less than $500 and perform well.

Hopefully these are good performers for the price.

Competition is a good thing, and I like EABCO. But I'd still predict they're going to have a tough time going toe-to-toe with Lilja.
That said, there maybe a lot of room at the $300 price point as compared to the $500 price point.
I'd get one of these, but I'm not shelling out on a build right now 'cause my winter project isn't done yet, and it was a bit spendy.
But looking forward to hearing the reports on these, for sure.

Alright. after some review, I realized I had a lopsided Christmas that yielded me a $1800 Visa bill, one undersized t-shirt and a stale bag of pistachio's. ( Even a lump of coal would have shown that somebody at least thought of me :) ) I'm now figuring that if I was deserving of any Christmas joy, I'm going to have to gift it to myself. So, Ho Ho HO! Barrel and thread protector ordered. When it comes in, I'll give it some testing on the new Varmint THB build and post some thoughts here. If I like it, I'll sell off the spare 20" Lilja that was going to go on that project. For the $300, I don't expect it to outshoot the $550 Lilja but I'd be real happy if it shoots like a factory MTR barrel. If nothing else, I'll get some fun out of the experiment.

Order Summary 1 Item 1 x EABCO CZ-457 Accuracy Barrel 24" Stainless Add a Thread Protector $12.95 CZ-457 Thread Protector 1/2x28, .820 Dia. Stainless #127-4070 Included Free Bore Paste Gun Cleaner 1/4 oz #001-0014 $311.95 Subtotal $311.95 Shipping Free Tax $0.00 Total (USD) $311.95

Likewise. So, like you, I've remedied that myself.
The DPG 457 barreled action won't be here until at least early spring, so I'm accumulating what I need to finish the build. The Oryx is on back order and the Arca rail is here (both purchased in the Black Friday sale). Also here: a new Accu-Tac WB5, Arc version (again, Black Friday).
Freshly ordered: Jard trigger, Australian Tactical Precision bag rider, MDT Vertical Grip Premier.
My scope and rings are already in house, although I have a slight worry that given the barrel diameter (1.1") and the scope's objective diameter (60mm), I may have to replace my current Vortex Precision Series mediums with some highs. If so, so be it.
It's fun choosing and ordering this stuff ... but oh, do I want to get that sucker built and onto the bench!
