New Life For An Old Rifle

Last Spring I wandered into one of my local haunts and was presented with a Winchester 1885 Low Wall chambered in 25 RF. I was amazed at the condition of the the receiver and was most interested in it having a single set trigger.
After some research I found the rifle was produced in 1897 and went back to Winchester 2x's 1902 and 1903. Further research informed me the rifle was originally chambered in 22 LR.
The rifle was placed in safe storage until a plan came together. Below are pics of the finished work.
What you see is a Winchester 1885 Low Wall chambered in .22 LR with an English Walnut stock. Work was completed by CPA. The barrel is an Octagon profiled Douglas. 26" long 2 1/2 contour. I've had great results with Douglas barrel and decide to go ahead with another on the project and another one currently in the works.
I'm happy with the bold case colors and the stock finish is smooth as glass.
I cannot wait to get some range time.

I keep coming back and looking at the OP rifle and it makes me want to do another Low Wall 1885. Everything about it came together so well. Did you start with a pistol grp receiver, or did CPA alter the lower tang?

When you are working with CPA its always such a positive experience too.

Thanks Jd,
The folks at CPA are great. It was originally a straight grip tang. CPA installed a pistol grip from MVA.
I agree it came together quite well. I cannot wait to shoot it. Hopefully the 10x MVA scope will get here soon!
What is your next Low Wall going to be? Mine is going to be an offhand Schuetzen rifle 🤓
