Back in the day, that was pretty much a standard stock if you were lucky. Stocks below are both standard circa 2006ish. Both rifles were sub $2000.

 

But does it shoot?

Little early to tell. Just got it a couple days ago. The test target was one ragged hole with Midas+, so I expect SK and Lapua to do well.

I would have to buy a synthetic stock to take out to use. Be just like me to trip on a limb or rock going down a bank to cross a creek. I would cry and cuss me under my breath, and say are you happy now. I would have to do a little fore thought on this. I have a Cooper forgot the model number in a 222 magnum , the wood is dark and beautiful I will get me synthetic stock for it and I haven't shot it yet. Great wood and be careful, Buck

The curl is very special on that one 😍. I'm sure some time with it in natural light moving it around so the light changes the figure is soothing.
