NAA-mini, I finally acquired one

I recently relegated my LCP-22 to my motorcycle jacket pocket. Why? I finally got a NAA Mini 22Lr.
I've been wanting one for a long time ever since trading off one of the Colt 22short single shot pistols years ago. The colt went with me everywhere and I always was confident that it would do its job if I needed it. Now I once again have a deep carry mini pocket gun.
As usual I had to change something, I upgraded the grips. The new grips feel great in my hands and are not so big to take up too much room in my pocket. The original tiny rubber nubby grips were not much to hang onto.

I've had one of the little .22LR Minis for at least ten years. It's cute, well-made, and reliable... but I simply can't hit a darn thing with it. Unless I use Mini-Mags or Stingers the bullets often keyhole a mere 15 feet from the muzzle. For me it's just a neat little range toy or conversation piece and nothing more. I wanted to use it as a deep hideout gun, but not when my clip folder has the same effective range.

On several occasions,,,
I've almost bought one of those little gems.

But at the last minute,,,
I've always talked myself out of laying out the cash.

I have a buddy who brings his to the range every outing,,,
So I get to shoot one of the standard .22 LR versions,,,
Just enough to get my "Mini ya-ya's" out.

At this stage in my life,,,
The only one I would actually buy,,,
Is the .22 short version if I could also get the belt buckle for it.

It would just be a conversation piece,,,
To bring to the range and play.

Aarond,,,

I have a pug .22mag/LR. I wouldn't sell it and if i was ever forced too from financial situations, I'd buy another when i could. If you learn how to shoot it, it shoots pretty decent. I can group 4"-6" and 20-25ft no problem. Thats good enough to hit a human size target if you need to. They are built VERY nice. You buy one and you won't regret it.

I got one around here somewhere with both the .22lr and .22mag cylinders. The .22mag is my go to it's hot as balls out and I want the lightest, most unintrusive carry gun I can have. Also great for snakes with rat shot. They are very well made little guns, and I pretty much stole mine years ago in the box, both cylinders, a holster, and some ammo for $125. I'll get some pics later maybe.

Those CF grips looks great man! Nice work.
thanks. I couldn't justify paying the price I’ve seen for them people were selling. Plus, I might be biased, but I think mine look better.

whats crazy is if you chrono the magnum vs LR , it’s not a huge difference in power. Here’s some I’ve chrono tested
I keep the hottest load in it when I carry
1” pug barrel

Cci quiet semi auto 584fps

Cci quiet 555fps

Aguila colibri 349fps

Super colibri 485fps

Federal auto match 40gr 828fps

Cci stinger 32gr 994fps

Federal punch 29gr 1001fps

Winchester silvertip 37gr 871fps

Norma eco speed 24gr 985fps

Winchester Super x mag 40gr 965fps

Hornady v max 30gr 22 mag 1042fps

Hornady critical defense 45gr 920fps

Cci maxi mag TNT 30gr 1065

That is interesting, but with 1" of barrel it makes sense. I need to track down some of that punch or Hornady.

I had one passed down to me. It is the older version with no safety notches on the cylinder. It wouldn't spin thin cylinder at all when you tried to cock it. I ordered a new hand and some more internal parts and some cheap 3d printed grips of eBay. Then got me a little boot holster. Great carry piece for around the farm. I finally have figured out how to hit something with it.

i finally got one a gew years back , i love the idea - not so much the shooting - but i bought mine as a bit of bling on my SASS gear , the one i got came color case hardened and included a smatt leather holster that just fit on my leather suspenders , only had one occasion when the unloading table guy wanted to clear it - think he just wanted to look at it , its never loaded ,
