Just picked up an older Marlin model 60, the one with the medallion which reads "Safety, Ethics, Sportsmanship." The stock is in excellent shape and everything seems to function just fine. She needs a good cleaning, and there is some frosting on part of the barrel.which should clean up with a little steel wool and elbow grease. I also need to fix the pin on the end of the brass tube feed.... but all and all a nice ole gun for very little cash.

It wasn't until I got her home that I realized the rear takedown screw was missing. Brownells is out of them. Any suggestions for another source?

8 x 32 screws from Lowes

Problem fixed....

I just went to Lowes and paid $1.00 for 5 or 10 screws. Of course they were shiny so I fire-blued the screw and it fits and looks great. A bit of steel wool handled the frosting and a good cleaning took care of the rest.

Thanks for the advice:bthumb:
