Miscellaneous Titan "Mods"

So here is what I did to my stock. I am sure a lotta folks will say it's not needed but I doubt it'll hurt, and I like to tinker.

Not the absolute cleanest work I've done but you can't tell from the outside at least.

- Rear receiver Permatex gasket maker bedding

- Trigger assembly JB Weld bedding (the Titan set screw was not doing it for me)

- Mag-well JB Weld bedding

- Barrel pad JB Weld "bedding"

With all this, the gun locks together absolutely solidly with no shake, rattle or rock. Obviously the action screw is still required to hold it together.

Well.... no... since I never shot it with the stock unmodified.

Although I did notice an accuracy improvement with the barrel pad bed, which I did after I'd been using the stock a couple months.

I took it out to the range today and turned in some decent groups while sighting it in (like 1/2" at 50 yards) with CCI Standard Velocity, slightly better with some Eley, but I am well out of practice. And it was one of those days where nothing feels quite right. Haven't been to the range in a year, since COVID. Honestly not sure I am going back till it is all done (or at minimum until summer) because the mask CONSTANTLY fogs the glasses and everything just seems like a huge PITA on a rainy blustery day.

A half inch @ 50 yards is decent.

I hear you regarding the fogging glasses & having to wear the @%&*mask.

I'm waiting on a new stock for my 10/22 & planning to do a barrel free float & bedding about 2" in front of the receiver.
The rifle shoots well but I got frequent flyers with both the Magpul & Titan stocks. I'm hoping the laminate stock & bedding will solve the problem.

I love the laminated stocks, which are very hard, and I drill out the take down screw hole, and use a 1/4 x 20 take down screw , and use a Volq ( large escutcheon -you have to ask for the large size), and the brass fitting (DrG ), using the Forschner bit, and is more stable using the larger screw, using JB Weld to secure. I have had best accuracy with my builds, using JB Weld, rear to 1 inch on rear side, take down screw area, to 2 inches in front of barrel in one solid form, which is very stable, and solid. Most do not glass all the take down screw, but the solid platform works for me rock solid.
