I've always heard good things about green mountain. The price is definitely right. I'm gonna see if I can touch base with their sales or customer service about back order or wait lists.
I don't see anything in that listing about the chamber. I assume its a benz chamber?

 

I have owned two Green Mountain barrels, I feel they are an excellent value.

 

I like the GM Heavy Tapers for my budget builds..but I've recently heard some good things about the Pike Arms barrels, and was going to give one of them a shot

R&S has some in stock, but they charge a bit more for them than Tactical Innovations does

I have a few GM barrels. They are nice but I wait and pay the difference fir Kidd barrels. To some folks, the GM may not be “budget”.

I wound up going with the KSA. According to mikes stocks it should chamber any standard 22lr just not stingers. I went with the KSA due to it actually being in stock. I guess I've got a case of fear of missing out. It just seems like everything 10/22 is out of stock or being gouged on eBay. I tried to get a factory ruger bolt from midway. 2 minutes after the back in stock notification they were out of stock again. Luckily, due to some awesome RFC members my project will continue on time and on schedule. I'll be back after the project is finished for a full review of the KSA barrel.

Youll be very happy, i used a ksa for my first build and i am still very pleased every time i shoot it.

 

Several years ago I built a 10/22. I used a Green Mountain barrel. It will keep 5 shots inside a nickel all day long. Most of the time inside of a dime.

 

My KSA barrel is every bit as good as my Green Mountain Barrels, and with the crummier ammo , better. I believe that is attributable to the microgrooved rifling. The same reason that Marlin 60 s shoot better out of the box than a Ruger 1022.

 

I would go with a Feddersen for a budget barrel

If you didn't have to have a .920 I would say try sending your factory ruger barrel to Randy @CPC, I've heard he can make them shoot very well. I know his work on my bolt and trigger group made a huge improvement, will now shoot any ammo I feed it with no jams

 

I replaced my barrel on my Ruger CSC (blued 16 in bull barrel) with a stainless Green Mountain 18 in bull barrel, non threaded. What a difference in accuracy. GM is more accurate and most 5 shot groups at 50 are less than 0.5 inch with some at .275 inch. For the price point, I'm very impressed!!

Tried to buy a LVT SS Barrel, from Ruger, and they wouldn't sell it to me without me sending my Complete Rifle to them for installation. Around $200 bucks to have it back in my hands. Told them I've installed numerous barrels on 10/22's with no problem. She told me that the only way they sell barrels. So much for keeping a Factory Rifle, Factory.

 

Green Mountain Makes a heavy tapered barrel, so I made my own LVTs

 

Installing any other barrel than Factory, will take me out of the Factory Class.

 

So send a factory bull to cpc, get it cut and turned. It will still say ruger, and shoot like a kidd.

 

So if you buy from the "Ruger shop", they will only sell if they install? That makes no sense OR is it because of that model barrel you wanted?

 

I have an 18", non-fluted, non-threaded, blued KSA barrel that I purchased for my first assemblage around 2010. They were sold by Stocky's for $77 intro price. Shoots great, on par with my KIDD ULW.

 

I ordered one with our a problem.

 

They would sell, only if I send them the complete rifle. Makes no sense.

I have the Ruger heavy 10-22 target barrel fitted to a Ruger American in a walnut Boyd varmint stock. Ruger mailed it to the house it was $130.

The 20" SS LVT Barrel is not listed on their Site. That's why I had to call in to order. If I wanted a Bull Barrel, I would just go to my closet and pick one of the ones I have in there.
