Couldn't find a general rimfire info section so I put it here. What the largest caliber rimfire handgun and/or rifle made? Current or past production.

I think that 130+ years or more back there were .43 caliber rimfire made for Remington Rolling Block rifles. Spanish and/or Egyptian calibers? Also, wasn't there a short-lived .50 cal rimfire for Springfield rifle conversions after the Civil War? Didn't the Swiss have an 11mm or so rimfire in the same period? Probably more than 130 years but I am not sure. I wasn't there.

Maybe because there weren't any?
If you have any evidence for the above, please post it.

All newly introduced equipment in the British Army was recorded in the form of "List of Changes" (LoCs for short).
Those relevant to edged weapons and firearms may be found in "List of Changes in British war Material" (4 volumes) published by Ian Skennerton, ISBN 0 9597438 3 9.
"Rifle, Snider-Enfield, Patt. 1" was introduced with LoC 1327 of 18 Sep 1866.
"Cartridges, Boxer, Ball and Blank" were introduced with LoC 1328 of 20 Aug 1866.

I cannot find any trace of a Snider rimfire cartridge.

If you purchase the book, the Snider action and cartridge are shown on the dust-jacket.
