Just saw this on their site. Here are the specs:

“Our new Drop in barrel for the CZ457 and 455. The barrel is a 24” straight 1.180” profile with 1:16 twist made from a premium 416 stainless steel blank. Our barrels are lead lapped to provide exceptional precision. We use a 22 LR Match chamber for a great balance of precision and reliability in a repeater. The barrel is finished off with a target crown rather than threads to prevent the bore from opening up for maximum precision. We include bolt shims to set the headspace to your preferred ammunition. LEAD TIME IS 14 WEEKS.”

Anyone know more on these? Brand new?

Interesting!
Could be terrific. Could be forgettable. Will all be in the execution.
But while I dig the idea and agree with @Mark_Dorman, I'd hesitate to be a beta tester at $550 per pop. That said, if it turns out be a truly competitive option, terrific. More options only helps us all.
Right now, IMO, the established and best bets in aftermarket precision barrels for the 457 are, in no particular order:
• Lilja if you want a do-it-yourself option.
• A Muller or Krieger installed by Modacam.
• A Hart fitted by Hart (no first-hand experience with this one, but from what another poster recently wrote, I think worth a phone call if someone is seriously considering a barrel upgrade).
Shilen course makes a great barrel, but a guy would have to luck into one, as projected new from Shilen lead time is 18 months. And you'd still need a smith to fit it.
Were I building a precision and/or long range 457, I think I'd get on Jonathan's job list at Modacam.

I would be interested to know how these barrels perform with regards to their weight and the use of grub screws for attaching the barrel to the action. If anyone decides to give one of these barrels a go, please give us range reports periodically as well as updates on how well the mounting holds up. Semper Fi…

So I can share some things but probably not everything. I can say that something or someone related to these has already been mentioned in above comments, take that as you may since we're not releasing exactly who but it's definitely listed above lol.
The diameter is actually what the blank manufacturer suggested to simplify programming. We were concerned a little about the weight being too much for the action but since it's already being done I feel like there's a good precedent showing that it'll be okay.
I think this will be a really great option for guys who don't necessarily need a truly custom barrel like ones out there but also want to build a positional rifle that's meant to balance on barricades.

Oh, dang ... if I'm reading what I think I'm reading, this should be a very nice barrel. Should be another first-class drop-in option.
Good luck with this project @Thesepaperwings !

Hope my wife doesn't see the bills too soon just ordered a case of Midas + last night, and the barrel tonight you guys are hard on my wallet :ROFLMAO: . I don't think that barrel will drop into my At-one stock, but if it does I'll let you know how it does... If not it will be a while as I build the budget back up, but I really wanted a Lilja, but with the price dropped down that much I have to give it a try.

Add me to the purchase list, Hope it shoots as good as my Lilja!
I wish for this too! Also hope it shoots BETTER!
I'd be happy if it's in the Lilja ball park in terms of accuracy. If it's as good, it's the best value barrel on the market for those wanting a heavy barrel.

I ordered one today, that sales price is really hard to pass up. The only concern is that the weight might be too much for the action and the way the pre-fit is designed by CZ. L3I didn't provide weight information on their website but some quick math shows that it'll probably be over 7lb. I'm hoping it'll shoot better than the factory CZ 24 inch varmint barrel (which shoots REALLY well) or at least match its accuracy, it should balance even better than the 26 inch 1.0 diameter Lilja barrel.

We shall see.

I came up with the same number for weight calcs. I agree it should balance better than the 26 inch 1.0 Lilja which weighs about 5.5 lbs. Also, the 24 inch will be a tad easier to move around on things like ladders, the pyramid, and cattle gate.

Honestly, as long as it shoots as well as the factory MTR barrel I wouldn't be upset. Though I'll be pumped if it does as well as the Lilja.

So my CZ's that my son completes with is a MTR or LRP barrel setup. I haven't lot tested either for the perfect ammo but with match ammo they both shoot small enough groups that any miss is user error for PRS/NRL. Most match barrels fall along this for positional shooting.
I think the guys shooting benchrest and lot testing ammo at Lapua/eley are gonna be the guys who benefit the most from a truly hand fit barrel like DPG or modacam.
