If you could buy one rimfire revolver, what would it be?

For me, it always comes back to the S&W's. And although I have been looking, on and off, for an affordable 4-inch Model 63, I'll admit that I always come back to the classic 5-screw K-22 Masterpiece. Closest I have is a current production Model 17.

Close behind is the Model 18:

But the Model 17's have always shot better for me. So: RFC what would it be? That Freedom Arms revolver that got away? A Ruger? Something more off the beaten track?

I like them all, Colt's, Rugers...but if I could only have one this 617 makes me giggle every time I take it out

I like to hand it to friends and in my best Dirty Harry voice say, "Yep what you have there is the least powerful handgun in the world!" 🤠
…..and it will blow your pinky finger clean off.

That is a gorgeous gun. I think THAT is the one I would buy, if I could buy only 1. Good luck finding one, right?🥺

If the question is anything imaginable, I would probably go with a Korth, since I've never owned one. I've owned a Freedom Arms revolver, though, and it's hard to imagine anything built with more precision and durability, if one can live with a heavy, single-action revolver. As it stands for me right now, I am more than happy with my 4" bull-barreled M63 and newly acquired 317.

This is a tough question for me just because there are so many on my list. It would be a tough choice between a S&W 4" 617 with full underlug, a model 18, a model 34 Kit gun, or a Colt Diamondback 4".... why would someone suggest such a thing as only owning one? I already have the K22 6" and if I had to stay with that one forever I wouldn't complain too loudly...

22 mag version of the Astra Cadix, preferably with a 6" barrel.

OP asked "if you could buy one," NOT "If you could only own one." Very different questions.

Right now I'm lusting after the new King Cobra in either 4" or 6", but I already have both 4" and 6" .22 Diamondbacks, so I don't really NEED it. ;)
Pretty sure if I could buy one, it would be another S&W Kit Gun for the other hip, the only .22 revolver I have, or want. Turns out the answer to his question CAN be the same as “only model owned” 😁

I've been fortunate enough to have had dozens of rimfire revolvers over my collecting years. Today, I still keep 6 . I don't think I could live with just one but if I did, it would likely be my 4" tuned 617 10 shooter. A very close second would be a also tuned 5.5" Ruger GP100-22. Both are just a pure joy on the range.

I have been following looking for ideas and to see what others like. I like that 5.5" GP-100 you posted. Pause for Google -- Now, I almost deleted this reply. Those list at $1000. I know Ruger list was always higher than real. Not any more. I still like it. Perhpas the 357 model would also be worth considering. Oh my, Lipesy did a 44 special. I like being retired. I dont appreciate the reduced cash flow.

The S&W 617 has always been at the top of my list with the 648 close behind ( both 6" ), but I recently picked up a model 18 which has the best trigger of all my revolvers . . . however have not yet had any range time with it.

I've been considering another 617 in a 4" but since Colt announced the King Cobra Target I would probably opt for one of those after I get to inspect one firsthand.
