Anyone have experience with one of these? I'm looking for something that's a little more slick than the Trimag.

Thanks in advance.

***And for those curious, I live in a jurisdiction where the BX-25's are illegal to possess.

I wanted to try the concept so I used black plastic electricians tape to join two; also wanted to try out which worked better, both mags pointing the bullets the same way or opposite.
I’ve considered using Black RTV to use as the joiner once the tape gives out.

The 10/22 mags are curved on the bottom. Not sure if RTV would hold them together.

My thoughts are to just get the doubler. I also have the tri-mag holding device and don't like the looks of all that hanging of the bottom.

There is a cavity in the bottom, too. My thought is to ‘degrease’ that and the bottoms well, fill that generously with RTV so it squishes out from the cavity some, be sure the mags are squared up and let it set, then do RTV around the edges and smooth up to finish off. The stuff is pretty solid and ‘rubbery’ when set.
Worst case is it doesnt hold and I have to peel it off and get the joiner.
Fwiw, I like the idea of the RTV better than epoxy like Ive read some have used; I think I could get the RTV apart if I change my mind.

I recommend them, much less bulky than the tri-mag and easier to use.

Just don't over-torque the joining plate with the hex screw, you'll snap the plate in half easier than you think.

Other than that, these are excellent. They work very well with a medium extended mag release lever, just grab the mag and lever with your thumb and fingers and it's a very quick change.

These work particularly well for the appleseed course of fire with the 2 and 8 round mag change AQT stages

Just get the Tandemkross Doublekross mag bodies. They are like $10 at Midway and ship free even if you just buy one. Gut a pair of factory mags and reinstall. Zero issues with the 4 I have aside from if they get dirty (which happens to any magazine). Their little mag assembly tool is nice too. I thought it was junk til I figured out how to use it correctly. Cleaned 10 magaznes (2 factorys, 4 Doublekross) last weekend and no trick putting any of it back together really.

After all night of designing, this is what I've got. Little different from the traditional Trimag and HTA Dual Mag Coupler.

My design squeezes the front (Green and Blue component) as well as the rear (Purple and Blue).

All fasteners are #10-32 size.

No clue how well this would work, but the first design iteration is currently being printed right now.

I'll keep everyone posted.

I have, and use, two different products to mate two mags. The one being referenced, which attaches using a screw/bolt.
The other product uses a mating piece between the two mags, and is epoxied together. This one is more rigid, it is obviously permanent. I like the feel of it, it is cheaper, but is permanent. If I find the brand name will add. Found it on Ebay, I also pair them up with the Ruger dust covers on the exterior mag.

Field testing went really good. Extra weight on the magazine did not effect the reliability. (Issues with BX25's I heard).

Fired over 500 rounds of various supersonic and subsonic ammo in all 3 of my 10/22's without a single magazine related malfunction.

Shoot me a PM for the design file. I also have LOTS of spare washer, screws, and nuts. (They made me buy them in bulk).

Cheers!

I sell the design to public. Free for RFC members of course, just send me a PM. Currently working on a Tri-mag version and a single extended mag version of it. Not too much work since the mating geometry is already established.

Much better than factory 15 and 25 mags

I have the HTA and the Tandemkross...if i could only choose one, it would be a tough call...i like the HTA for its quick implementation....i like the Tandemkross for the reduced size....either one is much more compact than a factory 15 or 25 mag....i have put all my factory 15 and 25 mags in storage and started buying HTAs or TK only...they slip into a pocket easily and dont hang down as far as factory high capacity mags....win win

You should 3D print my design and give it a try.
