The CT Info Sheet on Magazines that was dated 1/58 (I Think) stated that the Magazines should be clean every 300 rds. They suggested Kerosene as the solvent. Today High Standard TX recommends Mineral Spirits. We get magazines that don't feed because they have a black crust cake on the followers. I don't think that they have EVER been cleaned !!! We get them with worn out springs. We get them with followers that have a case rim dimple in them. We also get them with the springs that are installed backwards. Magazine adjustment is important BUT all of these others factors can cause a PERFECT magazine to stop feeding "All of a Sudden". Like in a Match !!!! I would like to point out that the high coil of the magazine spring should be facing forward. We get magazines for tuning that "Just will NOT Feed" and," I cleaned it and installed new parts" !!! Well, the spring was facing the wrong direction. I just thought that I should mention a few of these facts as Target and Plinking Season is upon us.- Alan Aronstein
