Has anyone bought the magnum cylinder and used it in their .22 lr. revolver? I called them the other and they said it just drops in. I remember Ruger had to fit them to the gun. TIA. tom.

Thank you for the quick reply. I called and ordered a magnum cylinder for my Rough Rider and hope it works well. I've had several Ruger Single Sixes over the years but this is my first Heritage. So far I like it very much. Shoots to point of aim and handles well. Probably the best $119.00 I've spent in decades. tom. :bthumb:

There's always the professional pessimistic shooters who detest the flip off safety or that the cylinder holes rarely match up to the ejector rod. I'll concede that the RR's cylinder does ratchet harder than my Colts or Rugers, but doesn't take long to master the thumb roll to quickly dump the empties.
Word of warning tho, don't expect the same month delivery of spares like Ruger will deliver in just days. It's worth the long weight at that price. My NOS stainless Ruger mag NM cylinder cost me $95, so the $38 Heritage total is still a good deal. Just have to be patient (really really patient).

Yes, I know. The Pakistani sounding gentleman said if I used a charge card it would be quite quick, but as I selected a postal mo it will take 6~8 weeks. I will wait. I've had it for 11 months and only took it out once for 60 rounds. I had a pistol that I owned 4 months before I fired it. I also had a rifle that didn't have the carry strap in the pouch and didn't find out for a long time. Caught some BS on here over that. tom. ;)

Some interesting chatter on this Heritage site.

A fellow "slinger" on there has been waiting two months for his mag cylinder CC purchase and it hadn't been processed yet. I tried three days to get them to answer my call to order checkered grip panels. Went with a yellowed epoxy pair off ebay instead which was here in three days not months.

Got 2 Rough Riders

one 6 shot, one 9 shot, both with both cylinders. Both guns shoot very well with no issues. Magnums are fun to shoot, albeit more expensive, but have a basketball sized fireball out of the muzzle. Oh Boy!!!!!

I got NO problems with these revolvers, excellent value for the money.

nope

never heard this before, and its in none of the Heritage brochures. I think a cheap revolver designed to shoot both .22 and .22 magnum would have enough "slop" in the bore to allow both ammos.

Now, both of my RRs were combos when I bought them, but I don't think there is any difference in barrels....other than length.

I have purchased 5 rough riders and ordered 2 engraved cylinders and 3 sets of grips. It required ordered the last gun I wanted. Everything ordered arrived within a week. Now I have 5 great grand children with SA revolvers. Actually it's their parents that own them because you have to be 18 years old to own a handgun in this state but they can legally shoot them if accompanied by an adult. I will most likely order 2 more engraved cylinders so all the girls will have engraved cylinders.

I shot 4 of the 5 guns before giving them away. If they had sights like the single sixes I believe I would have found them about as accurate. They were pretty close even with the grooved top strap sight of the SSA style.
